Definitions
- the present invention relates to an organic electroluminescence element evaluation method, an evaluation apparatus, an evaluation program, a recording medium, and a manufacturing method.
- organic electroluminescence element organic electroluminescence element
- Patent Document 1 a test voltage is applied to an organic EL element for inspection formed on a substrate to emit light, and the voltage when the organic EL element for inspection emits light with a predetermined luminance is measured and measured.
- an organic EL element evaluation method for determining whether or not an organic EL element has good light emission characteristics by comparing the measured voltage with a preset threshold voltage.
- this evaluation method a strict evaluation including the durability of the organic EL element cannot be performed, and even if the same evaluation result as the evaluation method of a normal organic EL element is obtained, a driving durability test is performed. There is a problem that the evaluation results are different.
- the IS method is a measurement method in which a minute sine wave voltage signal is applied to an organic EL element, impedance is calculated from the amplitude and phase of the response current signal, and an impedance spectrum is obtained as a function of the frequency of the applied voltage signal.
- a display of the obtained impedance (Z) on the complex plane with the frequency of the applied voltage signal as a parameter is called a Cole-Cole plot.

- the modulus is obtained by the following equation (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 1).
- M j ⁇ Z
- a transfer function suitable for the purpose of analysis can be selected as appropriate.
- M plots in which the modulus is plotted on a complex plane are often used. For example, when a voltage equal to or lower than the emission start voltage is applied to the organic EL element and the number of arcs in the M plot measured by the IS method is m, the number of organic layers is n, and n> m is satisfied, the evaluation target An evaluation method for determining that the organic EL element is good is disclosed (see Patent Document 2).

Further, in order to obtain an arc-shaped M plot corresponding to each organic layer, the organic EL element is set at a light emission start voltage or lower. It is thought that it is driven. As described above, it has been revealed that the evaluation method using the M plot is insufficient for the evaluation of a large-area organic EL element for the purpose of illumination.

- step S5 the control unit 10 determines whether or not the electric capacity is a positive value in all frequency ranges in the Cf plot. When it is determined that the electric capacity is a positive value in all frequency ranges (C> 0) (step S5: YES), the organic EL element is determined to be good and is output to the output unit 50 (step S6). ) And the present process is terminated. If it is determined that the electric capacity is not a positive value in all frequency ranges (C ⁇ 0) (step S5: NO), the organic EL element is determined to be defective and output to the output unit 50 (step S5). At the same time as S7), this process is terminated. For example, as shown in FIG.
- the organic EL element is determined to be good when the electric capacitance values are all positive in the measurement frequency range.

- the second embodiment is different from the first embodiment mainly in the following points.
- FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing the flow of the measurement process in which the control unit 10 reads out and executes the evaluation program P2 from the storage unit 30.
- the evaluation program P2 is stored in the recording medium and executes steps S1 to S5 and S10 to 12.
- the evaluation method using the evaluation program P2 can be applied to an organic EL element having a light emitting element area of 100 mm 2 to 1 m 2 , but preferably an organic EL having a large light emitting element area among large area elements.
- the present invention can be applied to an element, specifically, an organic EL element having a light emitting element area of 10,000 mm 2 to 1 m 2 .
- step S ⁇ b> 2 when the control unit 10 receives a command for instructing measurement start from the input unit 40, the control unit 10 instructs the measurement unit 20 to start measurement of impedance spectroscopy of the organic EL element that is the measurement target.
- a direct current voltage equal to or higher than the emission start voltage obtained in advance from the voltage-luminance characteristics is applied to the organic EL element.
- a voltage to the light emission luminance of the organic EL element is 10cd / m 2 ⁇ 5000cd / m 2.
- the measurement frequency range of impedance spectroscopy is 1 Hz to 10 kHz.
- step S5 the control unit 10 determines whether or not the electric capacity is a positive value in all frequency ranges in the Cf plot. When it is determined that the electric capacity is a positive value in all frequency ranges (C> 0) (step S5: YES), the organic EL element is determined to be good and output to the output unit 50 (step S10). ) And the present process is terminated. If it is determined in step S5 that the electric capacity is not a positive value in all frequency ranges (C ⁇ 0) (step S5: NO), the control unit performs the process of step S11.
- step S11 when the threshold frequency f th satisfies the condition of the expression (1) (step S11: YES), the organic EL element is determined to be good and is output to the output unit 50 (step S10). This process is terminated.
- the threshold frequency f th is a lower limit frequency in a range where the electric capacitance shows a positive value (see FIG. 5).
- A represents the light emitting element area (mm 2 ).
- step S11 NO
- the threshold frequency f th does not satisfy the condition of the expression (1) (step S11: NO)
- the threshold frequency f th is smaller than 0.01 ⁇ A (curve C1 in FIG. 5)
- the threshold frequency When f th is larger than 0.01 ⁇ A (curve C2 in FIG. 5) the organic EL element is determined to be defective.
- the same effect as that of the first embodiment can be obtained. Further, unlike the first embodiment, even when a negative electric capacity is observed, it is possible to evaluate a large-area organic EL panel having excellent durability based on the threshold frequency.
- Non-Patent Document 1 clarifies that there is a relationship between the negative electric capacity and the light emission efficiency of the organic EL element. It is thought that the cause of the negative electric capacity is that one of the carriers is excessive above the emission start voltage at which double injection of holes and electrons occurs, that is, the carrier balance is lost.
- the electric capacitance is a positive value within the measurement frequency range, it is possible to evaluate that the large-area organic EL panel to be evaluated has good luminous efficiency and durability.
- a negative electric capacity is observed, it is not possible to accurately determine whether the product is good or bad. Therefore, in the present embodiment, even when a negative electric capacity is observed, an accurate durability evaluation of a large-area organic EL panel can be performed by satisfying a predetermined threshold frequency condition. Is found.

Abstract
Description
ここで、ガラス転移温度(Tg)とは、DSC(Differential Scanning Colorimetry:示差走査熱量法)を用いて、JIS-K-7121に準拠した方法により求められる値である。
