- the layers (layer A and layer B) exhibiting orientation according to the present invention mean that the polypropylene chain (c-axis) forms a layer exhibiting orientation in a certain direction.
- the molded object of this invention has the characteristics in the layer from which the orientation differs in one molded object.
- Layers with different orientations are laminated directly or indirectly. “Indirectly” means that there may be another layer (such as a non-oriented layer) between the two layers. In effect, there are some other layers between the two layers.
- a crystal higher order structure composed of stacked crystal lamella layers in which the direction of regularity of the long period of the crystal lamella layer is in a certain direction. It is thought that it has.
- the crystalline higher order structure is composed of a crystalline lamella layer of a polypropylene polymer and a region of an amorphous part, and the crystalline lamella layer is laminated in layers through the region of the amorphous part.
- the method for evaluating the orientation direction of the polypropylene chain can be determined by observation with a polarizing microscope as described in the Examples below.
- the axis having a large refractive index of the sensitive color plate coincides with the flow direction of the resin when the polypropylene resin composition is molded.
- the direction of the polypropylene chain (c-axis) (the long-period regularity of the crystalline lamellar layer is formed) Is considered to be a direction substantially parallel to the resin flow direction, which means positive birefringence.
- the direction of the polypropylene chain (c-axis) (which is considered to be the direction in which the long-period regularity of the crystal lamellar layer is formed) is relative to the resin flow direction. This indicates that the direction is substantially vertical, meaning negative birefringence.
- the layers having different polypropylene chain orientations in the polypropylene resin molded product of the present invention have a laminated structure including at least the layer A and the layer B.
- the layer A is a core layer and the layer B is a skin layer.
- the skin layer means the outermost layer (or surface layer) in the oriented layer
- the core layer refers to an inner layer that exists in a portion toward the center of the molded body rather than the skin layer.
- the orientation direction of the polypropylene chain of the skin layer depends on the molding conditions and the configuration of the propylene resin composition.
- the orientation direction of the polypropylene chain of the core layer is perpendicular to the flow direction of the resin
- (B) the skin layer The orientation direction of the polypropylene chain is a direction perpendicular to the flow direction of the resin when producing the propylene-based resin composition, and the direction of the regularity of the polypropylene chain in the core layer is parallel to the flow direction of the resin. May be in different directions.
- birefringence of the skin layer shows a positive value
- the birefringence of the core layer shows a negative value
- the birefringence of the skin layer is negative.
- the birefringence of the core layer shows a positive value.
- the absolute value of the maximum birefringence of each layer is 0.005 or more, preferably 0.007 or more, more preferably 0.009 or more,
- the birefringences of are different from each other and have positive or negative values.
- the thickness of the molded body according to the present invention is preferably 0.5 mm or more, more preferably 1 mm or more. This is because it is easy to obtain the orientation which is a characteristic of the molded body, and superiority such as having a good influence on the physical properties of the molded body is recognized. About the thickness of a molded object, the said range is recommended also in relation to the below-mentioned manufacturing method.
- the method for producing a polypropylene resin molded product of the present invention comprises the following steps (i) to (iii), and the fatty acid according to the present invention is contained in the polypropylene resin composition in the step (i) or (ii).
- a metal salt is present.
- the description of the production method is also an explanation of a method of molding the polypropylene resin composition according to the present invention.
- the fatty-acid metal salt which concerns on this invention exists as an essential component.
- the temperature at the time of molding in the step (iii) is preferably 125 ° C. or less, more preferably 20 to 125 ° C., particularly 80 to 125 ° C.
- Step (i) it is important to heat-dissolve the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent (preferably at least one amide compound represented by the general formula (2) or the general formula (3)) in the polypropylene resin. It can be performed using a known apparatus.
- Step (i) consists of an operation of heating and dissolving the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent and an operation of bringing the polypropylene resin composition into a molten state.
- the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent is dissolved by heating means in the present specification and claims that substantially all of the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent is dissolved. In this operation, when the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is not sufficiently dissolved, the effect of the present invention is not sufficiently exhibited.
- step (i) will be specifically described.
- a polypropylene resin for example, (1) a polypropylene resin, a ⁇ crystal nucleating agent, a fatty acid metal salt, and, if necessary, a polypropylene modifier, a Henschel mixer, a ribbon blender, and a drum mixer.
- the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is dissolved in a polypropylene resin at a predetermined resin temperature, the molten state is maintained as it is, and the process proceeds to the next step (ii), (2) a melt kneader is used.
- a melt kneader for example, single screw extruder, twin screw extruder, roll, Brabender plastograph, Banbury mixer, kneader
- a melt kneader is used in a melted polypropylene resin at a predetermined resin temperature
- a ⁇ crystal nucleating agent, a fatty acid metal salt, and, if necessary, a modifier for polypropylene are solid or liquid.
- An example of the procedure described in the above (1) to (3) is a method in which the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is heated and dissolved, and the molten state is maintained as it is, and the process proceeds to the next step (ii).
- the polypropylene resin composition is cooled once into pellets, and again the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is heated and dissolved in the polypropylene resin at a predetermined processing temperature, and the molten state is maintained as it is, and the process proceeds to the next step (ii). Procedures can also be adopted.
- the processing time (residence time) in the step (i) in addition to raising the resin temperature in the step (i) while paying attention to the thermal decomposition temperature of the polypropylene resin, the processing time (residence time) in the step (i), It is preferable to appropriately adjust the screw rotation speed and shape of the heating and mixing apparatus (kneader etc.).
- the measurement value obtained by the “melting temperature” measuring method in the below-mentioned examples can be adopted, and the heating actually used.
- the temperature visually determined using a mixing device can also be employed. Usually, the former tends to show a higher temperature than the latter. This is presumably because the latter is in a flow field due to mixing, so that the dispersion of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent into the polypropylene resin is promoted.
- the range of the dissolution temperature to (dissolution temperature + 40 ° C.) is preferable, and the range of (the dissolution temperature + 5 ° C.) to (dissolution temperature + 40 ° C.) is recommended. Is done. What is important in the step (i) is to dissolve substantially the entire amount of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent in the polypropylene resin, and the “dissolution temperature” described later can be adopted as the resin temperature.
- the treatment time of step (i) depends on the type and ability of the heating and mixing apparatus, but it is preferable that the treatment is performed in a short time on the premise that the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is dissolved.
- the molten polypropylene resin composition is cooled to a temperature below which the crystals of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent are precipitated.
- the fatty acid metal salt according to the present invention is present. This is an important requirement for producing good quality acicular crystals.
- the resin temperature at the time of cooling in step (ii) is not more than the temperature at which the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent (amide compound) is precipitated from the polypropylene resin composition, and is preferably (the precipitation temperature -150 ° C.) or less.
- the (precipitation temperature -200 ° C.) or less is recommended. More specifically, the temperature is preferably 80 ° C. or lower, more preferably 40 ° C. or lower, and is a temperature range that can be practically used to achieve the object of the present invention.
- the cooling method is not particularly limited, and any known cooling method can be applied. For example, a method of immersing in a coolant such as water or air cooling using a forced air cooling device can be used.
- the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent crystallizes in the polypropylene resin and precipitates as acicular crystals.
- Such needle-like crystals of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent can be easily observed by an optical method using a polarizing microscope or the like.
- step (i) can be performed immediately, but as a pretreatment before step (iii) It is recommended that the obtained ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is once uniformly dispersed in a polypropylene resin.
- a polypropylene chain (c) is obtained using a polypropylene resin composition in which crystals of a ⁇ crystal nucleating agent (particularly needle crystals) are uniformly dispersed in a polypropylene resin and oriented in a certain direction.
- a step in which a layer in which the axis is oriented in a certain direction and a layer in which the orientation of the polypropylene chain is different (in other words, a crystal in which the direction of the regularity of the long period of the crystal lamellar layer is laminated in a certain direction)
- a crystalline higher-order structure composed of a propylene polymer phase having a crystalline higher-order structure composed of lamellar layers and a crystalline lamellar layer laminated in a direction different from the direction of long-period regularity of the crystalline lamellar layers Forming a propylene-based polymer phase).
- step (iii) For the formation of layers with different orientations of polypropylene chains (c-axis), control is made so that the crystals of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent are oriented in the flow direction of the resin, and a cooling gradient (difference in cooling rate) is used. Therefore, control of resin flow and temperature control in step (iii) are important factors.
- the temperature control in the step (iii) is performed after the polypropylene resin composition is once in a molten state within a temperature range in which the resin temperature is higher than the melting point of the polypropylene resin and the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent is not heated and dissolved. Let it be molded.
- the temperature during the molding is preferably 125 ° C. or less, more preferably 20 to 125 ° C., particularly 80 to 125 ° C.
- the melting point of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent according to the present invention is higher than the melting point of the polypropylene resin, so the polypropylene resin melts first, and then the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent (solid) dissolves in the molten polypropylene resin.
- the above “range of temperature at which the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent is not heated and dissolved above the melting point of the polypropylene-based resin” is a temperature range in which needle-like crystals of the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent are substantially present in the molten polypropylene-based resin composition. Means.
- the range of the temperature at which the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent is not dissolved by heating means, in other words, “the temperature lower than the temperature at which the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent is dissolved by heating”, that is, the temperature at which the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent is dissolved substantially in its entirety.
- the temperature is low.
- the temperature of a mold or a chill roll used for molding is usually set to the temperature range, but it may be necessary to adjust appropriately depending on the case. is there.
- the molding in the range in which a conventionally known molding method (molding apparatus) is used, the molding basically involves the flow of the resin. Crystals are oriented in the direction of resin flow. In order to achieve a higher degree of orientation, it is recommended to select a method for appropriately controlling the flow state of the resin. For example, the shape of the molding apparatus or the mold is devised so that shearing is easily applied in a desired direction.
- the above “moulding” is appropriately performed with pressure molding on the condition that the temperature can be controlled so as to obtain a desired shape and form of a polypropylene resin molded body (film, sheet, bottle, case, etc.) It means forming by employing a molding method such as vacuum molding, compression molding, extrusion thermoform molding, extrusion molding, injection molding or the like.
- the melting temperature of the ⁇ crystal nucleating agent in the molten polypropylene resin was determined by visually observing the dissolved state using an optical microscope equipped with a hot stage. A predetermined polypropylene-based resin and a ⁇ crystal nucleating agent were dry blended with a Henschel mixer, and a dry sheet was produced at a resin temperature of 175 ° C. with a press molding machine. After setting it on a hot stage and heating to 140 ° C., the behavior of the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent dissolving in the molten polypropylene resin at a heating rate of 2 ° C./min is then observed visually. The point at which no solid was observed was taken as the dissolution temperature (° C.).
- the molten polypropylene resin composition becomes cloudy, and when dissolved, it is transparent. Is possible.
- the amount of ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent exceeds 0.4% by weight, the measured value increases because the dissolution and dispersion of the ⁇ -crystal nucleating agent in the polypropylene resin becomes the rate-limiting step. It is recommended to adopt the resin temperature when using a heat mixing device.
- a DuPont impact value was measured by a method according to JIS K 5400 (1990) using an impact resistance DuPont impact tester (manufactured by Yasuda Seiki Co., Ltd.).
- the polypropylene resin molded bodies of each of the examples and comparative examples were used, and the test was carried out 20 times under the conditions of a falling weight of 300 g and a hitch tip size of 1/4 inch. (J). The larger the value, the better the impact resistance.
- Polarizing microscope observation In a polarizing microscope observation using a sensitive color plate under crossed Nicols, a polypropylene resin so that the axis of the sensitive color plate has a large refractive index and the flow direction of the resin when the polypropylene resin is molded.
- the molded product was set, and observed with a polarizing microscope under a crossed Nicol at a temperature of 25 ° C. and a magnification of 20 times using Eclipse LV100POL manufactured by Nikon under a sensitive color plate.
- the direction of the polypropylene chain (c-axis) (considered as the direction in which the long-period regularity of the crystalline lamellar layer is formed) is the resin flow direction. This indicates that the direction is substantially parallel to, and means positive birefringence.
- the direction of the polypropylene chain (c-axis) (which is considered to be the direction in which the long-period regularity of the crystalline lamellar layer is formed) is the resin flow direction. This indicates that the direction is substantially perpendicular to the direction, which means negative birefringence.
- N, N′-dicyclohexyl-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxyamide was dissolved in an extruder at a resin temperature of 260 ° C. to obtain a molten polypropylene resin composition (step (i)),
- the molten polypropylene resin composition was cooled with water and cut with a pelletizer to obtain a pellet-shaped polypropylene resin composition (step (ii)).
- the pellets were injection molded at a resin temperature of 200 ° C. and a mold temperature of 120 ° C. to obtain a polypropylene resin molded body of the present invention (a test piece having the shape shown in FIG. 3) (step (iii)).
