Abstract

 本発明は、開口率が高く、反射光の利用効率に優れた高画質の半透過型液晶表示装置を低コストで提供することを目的とする。本発明の液晶表示装置は、複数の画素(50)のそれぞれの中に、トランジスタ(32)と反射部(30)とを備えた液晶表示装置であって、反射部(30)は、金属層(56A,56B)と、金属層(56A,56B)の上に形成された絶縁層と、絶縁層の上に形成された半導体層と、半導体層の上に形成された反射層(63)とを備え、反射層(63)の表面には複数の凹部(48)が形成されており、金属層(56A,56B)の少なくとも一部と反射層(63)の少なくとも一部との間で補助容量が形成され、金属層(56A,56B)及び反射層(63)の少なくとも一方が、互いに電気的に分離された2つの部分を含む。
