Abstract

Vehicles moved by their driver through a washing device, in particular buses, box-type delivery vans and trailer trains, are washed by means of two vertical, water-receiving washing brushes (40, 140) guided in cross sleepers (30) that extend above the washing path diagonally to the direction of travel of the vehicles. In their initial position, the washing brushes are arranged at one side of the washing path; one washing brush is offset with respect to the other washing brush. The washing brush impacted by the front surface of the vehicle is movable by the moving vehicle on the diagonal guiding path from one side of the washing path to the other side of the washing path, at the same time as it cleans the surface of the moving vehicle. Both washing brushes (40, 140) are brought back to their initial position by means of a moving device that acts on the washing brush (40) independently from the vehicle.
