Abstract
Un dispositif de levage du capot (2) du moteur d'un véhicule à moteur comprend deux ressorts à gaz (6, 7) dont le premier (6) a une course plus petite que le deuxième (7), de sorte que le ressort est complètement étiré lorsque le capot (2) du moteur est dans sa première position d'ouverture. Afin d'amener le capot (2) du moteur jusqu'à une deuxième position d'ouverture, dans laquelle le compartiment moteur (1) est dégagé entièrement, il suffit de soulever légèrement le capot (2) du moteur, de façon à surmonter le frottement statique dans le deuxième ressort à gaz (7), la pression résiduelle dans ce ressort étant suffisante pour ouvrir entièrement le capot (2) du moteur. Ce mouvement d'ouverture n'est pas gêné par le premier ressort à gaz (6), étant donné que sur le cylindre (8) de ce dernier est glissé de manière mobile un tube de protection (14) qui assure la liaison entre le premier ressort à gaz (6) et le point d'articulation (13) du capot (2) du moteur.
