UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK J. DIACONT, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, ASSIGNOR TO 'WILLIAM BENS, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR BUTTON-HOOKS 0R SIMILAR ARTICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,017, dated. July 12, 1898.
Application filed Tune 7, 1898. Serial No. 682,855. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANK J. DIAOONT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Handles for Button-Hooks or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, wherein reference is made to the accompanying drawing, and the letters thereon, which forms a part of this application, and which shows the article in elevation, and together furnish a clear and exact description of my design, which is essentially as follows:
The leading feature of my design is a handle for button-hooks and similar articles ornamented with a panel inclosed by foliates and surmounted by a crown. More particularly described, it consists of a group of stems a a, the longer members of which, Z) Z), expand to form the outer contour of the handle-body. The stems b b burst into two sets of foliates c c, which with the foliated stem terminations d d slightly overlap the main panel at. A lower panel 9, With a row of beads h h on either side, is embraced by the stems a a. The upper portion of the handle-body is ornamented by converging foliated. scrolls surmounted by small circles inrelief. The handle terminates in a crown composed of several acute arches 7t 70, at the junction of each of whose bases with the circlet 0 is a trefoil 19. At the summit of the crown is a ball m, flanked by rows of smaller balls n it.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a handle for button-hooks or similar articles, substantially as herein shown and described.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
FRANK J. DIAGONT.
