Abstract

一種液晶顯示裝置,具備有:光源;光源電路基板,係載置光源,對光源進行電氣控制;導光板光學系統,係具有使得光源所發出之光從入射面入射、而以面狀光的形式出射之導光板;以及框體,係保持導光板光學系統以及光源電路基板,在對向於入射面之面亦即光源配置面之配置光源之位置處具有孔;光源電路基板係從光源配置面之內面側以光源配置於孔之內部的方式來被設置於框體。

Description

液晶顯示裝置
本發明係關於一種液晶顯示裝置。
作為電腦等資訊通訊終端、電視接收機之顯示裝置係廣泛使用液晶顯示裝置。液晶顯示裝置係一種將被封入2個基板之間的液晶組成物之配向以電場變化來改變,而控制光通過2個基板與液晶組成物之穿透程度以顯示畫像之裝置。
如此之液晶顯示裝置,光源方面一般係使用被稱為背光之照明裝置。背光照明方式主要已知有在液晶顯示面內側具有光源之直下光方式、以及將從側方所照射之光加以反射而照射於液晶顯示面之側光方式。近年來行動電話等移動通訊終端裝置等所使用之液晶顯示裝置被要求小型化、節能化,乃逐漸開始使用以發光二極體(LED:Light Emitting Diode)為光源之側光方式。
於日本特開2008-216406號公報中揭示了一種側光方式之液晶顯示裝置,具有將LED發光所產生之熱加以放熱之放熱板。
近年來,尤其於行動終端等所使用之液晶顯示裝置中,被要求進一步的小型化、薄型化,即便是使用LED之側光方式液晶顯示裝置也要求在顯示區域周圍所形成之框緣區域能縮小。
本發明有鑑於上述情事所得者,其目的在於提供一種液晶顯示裝置,其使用框緣區域更為縮小之側光方式的背光。
本發明之液晶顯示裝置,具備有:光源;光源電路基板,係載置該光源,對該光源進行電氣控制;導光板光學系統,係具有使得該光源所發出之光從入射面入射、而以面狀光的形式出射之導光板;以及框體,係保持該導光板光學系統以及該光源電路基板,在對向於該入射面之面亦即光源配置面之配置該光源之位置處具有孔;其中,該光源電路基板係從該光源配置面之內面側以該光源配置於該孔之內部的方式來被設置於該框體。
此外,本發明之液晶顯示裝置中,該框體在該光源配置面之板厚可因應於該光源相對於該光源電路基板之高度來決定。
此外,本發明之液晶顯示裝置中,該框體之該孔可為朝向該導光板光學系統而擴展之錐面形狀。
此外,本發明之液晶顯示裝置中,該光源可為複數,而該孔相對於各光源各開設1個,另外該孔亦可相對於複數光源開設1個。
此外,本發明之液晶顯示裝置中,該光源電路基板以及該框體能以使得該光源所發出之熱進行傳導的方式對相互的面做直接或是間接接觸,當間接接觸之情況,亦可隔著含玻璃填料之樹脂來接觸。
此外,本發明之液晶顯示裝置中,該框體之該光源配置面處可配置反射片。

首先針對本發明之比較例之構造來說明。圖9係針對本發明之比較例之使用側光式LED光源之液晶顯示裝置之背光模組800以及設置背光模組800之框體912之一部分所表示之截面立體圖。如此圖所示般,背光模組800之構成包括:由導光板、擴散片等光學片以及反射片等所構成之導光板光學系統810;作為光源之LED(Light Emitting Diode)823;以及,載置LED823而控制LED823之發光的光源控制基板824。此外,框體912中,導光板光學系統810以及光源控制基板824係以由LED823所發光之光從導光板側面來入光的方式而設置。
圖10係從圖9之背光模組800以及框體912之側面所截面之圖。如該圖所示般,光源控制基板824由於載置著連接器825等(相對於導光板光學系統810之厚度在該厚度方向上伸長,輸入用以控制LED823之控制訊號),故框體912在相對於導光板光學系統810之底面離開之方向上成為大幅回繞之U字形形狀。此外,本比較例中,由於在導光板光學系統810之入光面與框體912之間配置光源控制基板824以及LED823,而需要對應於此等厚度之框緣區域。
以下,針對本發明之實施形態,參見圖式來說明。此外,圖式中,同一或是對應要素係賦予同一符號而省略重複說明。
圖1係示意顯示本發明之實施形態之液晶顯示裝置100之圖。如該圖所示,液晶顯示裝置100構成上具有:液晶模組200,係藉由被密封在2個基板之間的液晶配向,來控制從後述導光板光學系統210所出射之光的穿透;以及,框體110,係固定液晶模組200。此處,框體110具有顯示面側之上框體111與導光板光學系統210側之下框體112。此外,於本實施形態,上框體111以及下框112為個體,但亦可為一體構成之框體。
圖2係顯示圖1之下框112側之一部分截面之圖。如該圖所示,導光板光學系統210係由導光板211、安裝於導光板211之液晶面板側的稜鏡片或擴散 片所構成之光學片212、以及安裝於其相反側之反射片213所構成,而被固定於下框112處。藉由使得導光板光學系統210成為如此之構成,則從導光板211之入光面215所入射之光會成為均勻的面狀光而出射到液晶面板側。
作為光源之LED223係載置於光源控制基板224,係以被配置於在和導光板211之入光面215相對向之面(亦即下框112之光源配置面115)處所形成之孔113內的方式,從光源配置面115之內面側固定於下框112。從LED223所出射之光係從導光板211之入光面215進入導光板211內,於上下面反覆進行反射,然後以面狀光的形式從導光板光學系統210出射到液晶面板側。此處,從LED223出射之光若在孔113之內壁面被反射,恐將對於面狀出射光之均勻性造成影響,故光源配置面115之板厚係以在孔113之內壁面不會出現反射的方式來設計。亦即,光源配置面115之板厚係配合LED223之高度或是出射光之擴展角度來決定。
光源控制基板224為了提高因LED223所產生之熱的放熱性,係以和下框112之面接觸的方式被固定。尤其,本實施形態中,將熱傳導性構件225夾在光源控制基板224與下框112之間來提高熱傳導性。此處,熱傳導性構件可為例如含有玻璃填料之樹脂。再者,為使得從導光板211之入光面215出射之光回到導光板211內,於光源配置面115設置有反射片228。於光源控制基板224除了LED223以外尚且載置著包含連接器227之各種電子零件。
圖3係包含圖2之截面圖之部分的導光板光學系統210、下框112以及LED223之部分立體圖。如該圖所示,導光板光學系統210係配置於下框體112內,複數LED223分別被配置於在光源配置面115所開設之複數孔113。從個別LED223出射之光係入射於圖2所示導光板211之入光面215。
圖4係顯示與圖3為相同視野下在下框112之光源配置面115所開設之複數孔113之圖。本實施形態中,孔113係開設出和LED223數量為同數量。
從而,依據本實施形態之構成,無須於框體110與導光板光學系統210之間保留光源控制基板224與LED223所需之間隙,可使得框體110之側面(光源配置面115)更靠近導光板光學系統210,而可更為縮小框緣區域。此外,由於框體110無須成為被覆光源控制基板224之U字形形狀,故可更為薄型化。
此外,框體110由於削減折彎數使得形狀單純化,而可壓低包含模具費用等加工費用,且可降低不良加工品之發生數,可提高良率。此外,作為光源之LED223可在不卸除框體的前提下進行交換,故對於修理、製造時之不良也能更容易地對應。
圖5係顯示圖10所示構成中,LED823所產生之熱的傳導路徑圖。如該圖所示,於LED823所產生之熱係經由光源控制基板824傳遞到熱傳導性佳之金屬所構成之框體912,沿著框體912往更離開LED823之方向上傳遞以放熱。此時由於框體912為U字形形狀,故熱可滯留於此形狀內部,於U字形形狀部分不會高效率地放熱。
圖6係顯示於本發明之圖2所示構成中,LED223所產生之熱進行傳導之路徑之圖。如該圖所示,於LED223所產生之熱係和圖5同樣地傳遞於光源控制基板224,且直接也傳遞到金屬所形成之下框112處,可使得作為熱源之LED223高效率地放熱。此外,由於並非圖5之U字形形狀,而是僅做了一次彎折之形狀,故傳遞至下框體112之熱可朝更為離開LED223之位置來傳熱而放熱。從而,本實施形態之構成,可從LED223往更多方向來傳熱,且所傳遞之熱可高效率地放熱。
從而,本實施形態之液晶顯示裝置100,可從光源往許多方向來放熱,且可對放熱效果大的金屬框體110來直接放熱,而可高效率地使得光源所產生之熱進行放熱。再者,由於框體110在光源附近之彎折數少,故熱不會滯留於光源附近,可更高效率地來進行放熱。如此般,藉由提高放熱效率,而抑制光源劣化,而可延長液晶顯示裝置之耐用年限。
圖7係顯示上述實施形態之第1變形例。於該變形例,框體312於光源配置面315係對於2個LED323具有1個孔313。此外,於本變形例中雖為2個LED323,但亦可對於3個以上之光源具有1個孔。相對於此1個孔之光源數可因應於光源大小、框體312厚度或是強度等來設定,亦可基於光學設計上之理由等或其他理由來設定。
圖8係顯示上述實施形態之第2變形例。圖2中,光源配置面115之板厚係由LED223之高度或是出射光之擴展角度來決定,但第2變形例之孔413則如圖8所示般,為朝向導光板光學系統210而擴展之錐面形狀。若將孔413設 定為如此之形狀,尤其當使用薄型光源之LED423之情況,可一邊維持框體412之板厚來保持強度、一邊防止自LED423出射之光在孔413之內壁面出現反射。
於上述實施形態,框體係使用上框體與下框分離者,但即使上框體與下框一體化而保持著液晶面板與背光模組雙方,藉由從框體之光源配置面內面側以光源配置於孔之內部的方式來設置,而可適用本發明。此外,於上述實施形態,光源係採用了LED,但亦可使用其他自發光型發光元件。
本發明之特定實施形態雖現階段如上述般做了說明,但在不超脫本發明精神之範圍內,當然可做各種變形,本發明希望將所有的變形都包含於本申請專利範圍中。

Claims (8)

  1. 一種液晶顯示裝置,具備有:光源;光源電路基板,係載置該光源,對該光源進行電氣控制;導光板光學系統,係具有使得該光源所發出之光從入射面入射、而以面狀光的形式出射之導光板;以及框體,係保持該導光板光學系統以及該光源電路基板,在對向於該入射面之面亦即光源配置面之配置該光源之位置處具有孔;該光源電路基板係從該光源配置面之內面側以該光源配置於該孔之內部的方式來被設置於該框體。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該框體在該光源配置面之板厚係因應於該光源相對於該光源電路基板之高度來決定。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該框體之該孔係朝向該導光板光學系統而擴展之錐面形狀。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該光源為複數,該孔相對於各光源係各開設1個。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該光源為複數,該孔相對於複數光源係開設1個。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該光源電路基板以及該框體係以使得該光源所發出之熱進行傳導的方式對相互的面做直接或是間接接觸。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第6項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該光源電路基板以及該框體係隔著含玻璃填料之樹脂做接觸。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第1項之液晶顯示裝置,其中,該框體之該光源配置面處配置著反射片。
