W 20 25 30 35 40 529 855 2 Enligt uppfinningen tillhandahålls ett skär med en skarp egg genom att utsätta ett belagt skär för en slutlig blästringsoperation resulterande i en ytfinhet (Ra) av mifläre än 0,3 um över en mätt längd av 0,25 mm och slipning så att en extremt skarp egg uppnås. Förbättrad livslängd erhålls sedan genom deponering av ett tunt PVD-skikt. Detta yttersta PVD-skikt är alltså det enda skiktet på släppningssidan åtminstone nära skäreggen. Företrädesvis är detta det enda skiktet pà släppningssidan.
I en föredragen utföringsform är det yttersta skiktet, före blästring och slipning, ett aluminiumoxidskikt, företrädesvis ett a-aluminiumoxidskikt, med en tjocklek av l-10 um, företrädesvis 3- 6 um.
I ytterligare en föredragen utföringsform finns det ett inre skikt av Ti(C,N) mellan aluminiumoxidskiktet och substratet med en tjocklek av 2-10 um, företrädesvis 4-7 um, med kolumnära korn.
Föreliggande uppfinning avser även ett sätt att tillverka ett belagt skär med extremt skarp egg genom att -tillhandahålla ett belagt skär, -utsätta åtminstone spånsidan av sagda skär för en blästringsoperation för att erhålla en slät yta med en ytfinhet (Ra) av mindre än 0,3 um över en mätt längd av 0,25 mm, -utsätta skäret för en periferislipningsoperation med användning av en fin slipskiva för att erhålla en skäregg med väsentligen ingen eggradie och -deponera ett 1-6, företrädesvis 2-3, um slitstarkt Skikt med användning av PVD-teknik. Det slitstarka skiktet är helst Ti(C,N), TiN, (Ti,Al)N.
Exempel 1 Hárdmetallskär av sorten VCEX 110301 R-F med en sammansättning av 6 % Co och med balans WC belades med ett 0,5 um likaxligt TiCN-skikt följt av ett 5 um tjockt TiCN-skikt med kolumnära korn genom användning av MTCVD-teknik (processtemperatur 850°C). I följande processteg under samma beläggningscykel, deponerades ett 1 um tjockt skikt med likaxliga korn av TiCXNyOZ (approx. x=O,6, y=O,2 och z=O,2) följt av ett 4 um tjockt skikt av d-Al2O3. Efter beläggning gjordes skären släta genom våt blästring till en ytfinhet av 0,2 um över en mätt längd av 0,25 mm. Sedan utsattes skären för en periferislipningsoperation med en 20 25 529 855 3 diamantskiva med 25 um kornstorlek så att en skarp skäregg erhålls genom avlägsning av beläggningen pà släppningssidan.
Exempel 2 uppfinning Hälften av skären fràn exempel l belades med ett 2-3 um skikt av (Ti,Al)N med användning av PVD-teknik.
Exempel 3 Skär frán exempel 1, tidigare känd teknik, och 2, uppfinning, provades under följande betingelser: Längdsvarvning av rostfritt stàl SS2346 Skärhastighet: 150 m/min Matning: 0,1 mm/varv Skärdjup: l mm Oljekylmedel Som en ytterligare referens användes Sandvik Coromant kommersiella sort GClO20.

Claims (3)
1.
