Packningen är en utmärkt sådan eftersom den vulkade elasten motstår slitning och utträngande -och är icke-absorberande. Om flera ringar erfordras kan en 30085624» längre spiralpackning framställas genom användning av en skarvmaskin för att binda en ände av en spiralpackning till en ände av en annan packning.
Andra ändamål, kännetecken och fördelar hos föreliggande uppfinning kommer att framgå för fackmännen av följande detaljerade beskrivning av en föredragen utföringsform tagen tillsammans med de bifogade ritningarna,vari fig. 1 visar en perspektivvy av ett formpressningsverktyg, med bortskurna delar, enligt uppfinningen; fig. 2 visar en partiell tvärsnittsvy av dornen; fig. 3 visar en perspektivvy av en spiralpackning; 'fig. 4 visar en tvärsnittsvy av en sammanpressad packning på plats runt en maskindel och fig. 5 visar en perspektivvy av en skarvmaskin.
I fig. 1 visas en form 10 som omfattar en undre matrisdel 12 och en övre patrisdel 20. Matrisdelen 12 har en spiralräffla 14 med en V-formad botten 16. Den över patrisdelen 20 har en rundad spiral 22 som skjuter ut från sin yta.
Spiralen 22 passar in i räfflan 14 när patrisdelen 20 i formen 10 är på plats.
En vätskeformig värmehärdande plastisk uretanelast framstäl- les genom blandning av ett vätskeformigt harts, såsom Ll67 från DuPont med en katalysator, såsom 4,4-metylen-bis- (2-kloranilin) som finnes tillgänglig från Polyester Corpo- ration i New York. Katalysatorn är 1 tablettform och smältes före blandning med det vätskeformiga hartset. Den resulteran- de vätskeformiga plasten upphettas därefter till mellan 82 och 104°C och hälles in i spiralräfflan 14 hos formen 10.
Refflan 14 fylles icke fullständigt med den vätskeformiga plasten.
Vid denna punkt tillslutes överdelen 20 av formen 10 över underdelen 12 så att den rundade spiralen 22 skjuter in i áooassz-à~ den vätskeformiga plasten i räfflan 14. Delarna av formen e pressas därefter samman med hydraultryck (icke visat).Pre5sàr- na utövar ett tryck av 70 kp/cm2 för de mindre formarna men lägre tryck kan användas. Samtidigt utsättes formen för en temperatur mellan 82 och l04°C. Formpressningen fortsättes i mellan 4 och 6 minuter.
Formen öppnas därefter och värmen stänges av. Formpressning- en har partiellt härdat den vätskeformiga plasten till ett fast plastgummistadium. Den resulterande spiralpackningen är fjädrande men har icke härdats tillräckligt för att ha ett minne.
En dorn 30, som visas i fig. 2 väljes därefter. Dornen 30 har en inre cylinder 32 med en lägre klack 33 och en koncent- risk yttre cylinder 34. Cylindrarna är icke förbundna och deras väggar är åtskilda av ett avstånd som är ungefär lika med tvärsnittstjockleken för spiralpackningen. Den partiellt härdade packningen från formen inmatas därefter i utrymmet mellan cylindrarna 32, 34 så att spiralpackningen lindas runt cylindern 32 från klacken 33 till den motsatta änden av cylindern 32. Den yttre cylindern 34 förhindrar spiral- packningen från att räta ut sig. Dornen 30 med spiralpack-. ningen iinaea därpå upphetfee därefter i en ugn via s2-1o4°c i mellan l5 och 30 minuter. Detta härdar packningen så att den har dimensionell integritet och stabilitet samt elastiskt minne. Den inre diametern för packningen är den för den mind- re cylindern hos den valda dornen. Det finnes fyra tillgäng- liga mindre cylindrar för den föredragna utföringsformen och de har diametrar av 8,26 cm, 10,80 cm, 18,42 cm och 28,58 cm. Fyra olika formar användes med de fyra olika dornarna.
Formarna varierar endast storlek så att en längre spiralpack- ning framställes för användning med de större dornarna.
En härdad spiralpackning 40 visas i fig. 3. Den harenlqmnfiím- med topp 42 bildad av den V-formade nocken 16 i botten av ~ formen 10. Packningen 40 har även ett par kantnockar 44 som aooassá-4 sträcker sig nedåt, som bildats när den rundade spiralen 22 i patrisdelen 20 av formen 10 pressades in i den vätskefor~ miga plasten i spiralrefflan 14 hos formen 10. När spiral- packningen 40 pressas samman passar successiva slingoršlsaman eftersom den kupolformade toppen 42 hos en slinga passar mellan nockarna 44 hos slingan ovan.
Som ett slutligt steg förankras spiralpackningen 40 i sin sammanpressade ställning och placeras i en ugn vid 82-l04°C under 2 till 3 timmar för slutlig härdning. Spiralpackningen är fjädrande och den härdade elasten motstår slitning och 'utträngning och är icke-absorberande.
Spiralpackningen märkes med mätningsförsänkningar (measure- ment dimples) såsom de som visas i den amerikanska patent- skriften 4.l57.833,vilken härmed införlivas genom hänvisning.
Märkningarna gör det möjligt för en köpare att skära spiral- packningen till en serie individuella ringar 60 som har samma diameter för den del som skall tätas utan behov av svår mätning eller avfall. Ringarna centrumstaplas därefter såsom visas i fig. 4. En toppinsats 62 och en botteninsats 64 tillföres därefter stapeln. Insatserna 62, 64 tillverkas på samma sätt som spiralpackningen med undantag av att for- men har en annorlunda form. De resulterande spiralinsatserna skäres därefter till tvâ ringar som placeras över och under stapeln av ringar 60 såsom visas. Hela packningen 70 place- ras därefter runt en axel 72 eller annan maskindel och en packningsring 74 som har en utskjutande krage fastskruvas över packningen 70. Kragen pressar samman packningen 70 och nockarna 44 vidgar sig utåt så att de pressar mot axeln 72 varigenom den tätas.
Tack vare elasticiteten för spiralpackningen kan de individu- ella ringarna 60 skäras så att de passar en maskindel som har en diameter som är ungefär 20% större eller mindre än dia- metern för den inre cylindern för den valda dorn på vilken spiràlpackningen härdades. Med bara de fyra inre cylinder- 80085624» storlekarna kan därför packningsringar tillverkas för delar inom ett diameterområde av från 6,99 cm till 34,93 cm och eftersom ringarna skäres från successiva delar av spiralpack- ningen förekommer ringa mängd bortslängd packning.
Längden för packningen kan ökas genom att man förbinder två eller flera spiralpackningar genom användning av skarvanord- ningen 80 i fig. 5. Skarvanordningen 80 är väsentligen en seg- ment_f0rma5 del av formen 10. Skarvanordningen50 har en serie räfflor 82 (tre visade) i en matrisdel 84 och diametern för räfflorna 82 motsvarar diametern för spiralpackningarna från de olika dornarna. En ände 86 av en spiralpackning glider in i den valda räfflan 82 från en sida och en ände 88 hos en _annan packning glider in i räfflan från motsatta riktningen.
Klämmor 90 håller ändarna 86, 88 på plats. Upphettad värme~ härdande plast hälles mellan och över ändarna 84, 86 och en patrisdel 92 som har en serie utskjutande rundade spiraler 94 tillslutes. Formpressning anbringas på denna gränsyta vid s2-lo4°c under s till lo minuter. vid slutet ev denne tid föreligger en fast fog som förenar de två packningarna och de förenade packningarna placeras därefter i en härdnings- ugn under flera timmar.
Andra värmehärdande material, och olika hartser, och katalysa- torer kan användas med föreliggande uppfinning. Formen kan göras i olika former och bredden för packningen kan varieras.
Dessutom kan mycket lägre tryck än 70 kp/cmz användas vid formpressning. Det skall även förstås att den inre cylindern hos dornen kan ha vilken som helst önskad diameter och de fyra valda dorndiametrarna är icke kritiska. Det är även möj- ligt att använda spiralpackningen utan att skära den i indi- viduella ringar. Detta kan emellertid i vissa fall kanske icke vara möjligt där det föreligger begränsad tillgänglighet till den maskindel som skall tätas.
Claims (8)
1. l. Förfarande för tillverkning av en tätningspackning, k ä n n e t e c k n a t av att det omfattar: formpressning av en värmehärdande plast i en spiralform under värme för bildning av en partiellt härdad spiralpackning, avlägsnande av den partiellt härdade spiralpackningen från formen och lindning av den på en dorn, tillförsel av värme till dornen och den partiellt härdade packningen för härdning av packningen, och avlägsnande av packningen från dornen.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, k ä n n e t e c k ~ n a t av att det vidare omfattar upphettning av packningen i en efter-härdningsugn efter att packningen avlägsnats från dornen.
3. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 2, k ä n n e t e c k - n a t av att upphettningen i en efter-härdningsugn sker under z :111 s timmar via sz-io4°c.
4. Förfarande enligt patentkravet l, k ä n n e t e c k - n a t av att plasten är en uretanelast.
5. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, k ä n n e t e c k - n alt av att formpressningen omfattar hållning av en upp- hettad vätskeformig plast in i enrnatrisdel av spiralformen, täckning av matrisdelen med en patrisdel av spiralformen och anbringning av tryck till denna under en tid av ungefär fem minuter vid 82-l04°C.
6. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 5, k ä n n e t e c k - n a t av att trycket är 70 kp/cmz.
7. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 2, k ä n n e t e c k - n a t av att tillförsel av värme till dornen och den par- tiellt härdade packningen innefattar placering av dornen och aooasaz-a 8 packningen i en ngn vid s2-1o4°c i mellan 15 och 30 minuter.
8. Förfarande enligt patentkranet 1, k ä n n e t e c k - n a t av att spiralpackningen skäres till en serie indivi- duella ringpackningar efter att den avlägsnats från dornen. /f
