Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for preparing oil for refining, and more particularly, to a method for removing chlorine-containing compounds from oil. Such cleaning helps to reduce the corrosion of pipelines and equipment and reduces the pollution of petroleum products by chlorine compounds.
A known method of removing chlorine impurities by electrodesalting (kg. D.N. Levchenko, N.V. Bergshtein, N.M. Nikolayeva "Technology of desalting of oils at oil refineries", pp. 94-96. M. Chemistry, 1985) (1) . Crude oil with a demulsifier introduced into it is heated in a heat exchanger to 60-140 o C and, together with the wash water, is supplied to the electric dehydrators, The settled water with the salts dissolved in it is drained, and the oil, after leaving the dehydrator, is mixed with fresh washing water, and the second is fed to the dehydrators steps where the same operations are carried out as in electric dehydrators of the first step. Water is drained from the electric dehydrators of the second stage, and oil is sent either to the oil refining part of the installation or transported to consumers.
Depending on the initial salt content in the oil, its viscosity and a number of other factors, as well as the type of equipment used, the process temperature ranges from 60-80 o to 100-140 o C. Moreover, the residual salt content in the oil is also different from 5 to 25 mg / l
When desalting oils with low pH values in the feed together with the demulsifier serves aqueous solutions of alkali in such quantity as to ensure a neutral environment of the aqueous phase. This technique allows to reduce the residual salt content, however, in general, the above method does not allow for a sufficiently complete purification of crude oil from chlorine-containing organic compounds. During the distillation of oil purified by this method, hydrogen chloride is formed (due to the thermal decomposition of organochlorine compounds), which, together with the products of distillation, gets into condensation-refrigeration equipment, causing it to accelerate corrosion.
There is a method of complex removal of chlorine-containing compounds from oil, both inorganic (sodium, calcium and magnesium chlorides), and organic (V.D. Egorov, V.V. Martynenko, etc. "Automation system for the removal of chlorine-containing compounds from oil to ELOU", in the collection of NTIS "Oil Refining and Petrochemistry", 1984, N 1, s44-45) (2). Desalting according to this method is carried out in three stages at a temperature of 90-100 o With each. A feature of this method is that in the second stage, the oil is mixed with an emulsion consisting of a recirculated oil stream and aqueous alkali solutions of 20% and 2% concentration and is sucked to separate the aqueous phase. This method allows to reduce the content of mineral and organic chlorine-containing compounds in oil, however, the process conditions do not allow such cleaning with sufficient depth. In further oil refining, this leads to the decomposition of impurities with the release of hydrogen chloride, and as a result, to the acceleration of corrosion of technological equipment.
The objective of the present invention, therefore, was to increase the depth of oil purification from all types of chlorine-containing impurities.
It was found that the problem is solved using the present method of removing chlorine-containing compounds from oil by washing it with water and an aqueous alkali solution in an electrodesalting plant in several stages at an elevated temperature, characterized in that the oil is washed with an aqueous alkali solution at a temperature of 30-80 o With higher than the previous washing with water.
This method, including the presented technological methods in the indicated sequence, can significantly increase the depth of oil purification from all types of chlorine-containing impurities, which accordingly reduces the corrosion rate of equipment, and also reduces the content of non-combustible residue (ash) of heavy oil fractions during further processing of marketable oil obtained by this way.
The application of this method on existing electrical desalination plants does not require major changes in the technological scheme, except for re-binding heat exchangers. The effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with the method described in (2) can be demonstrated as follows. To compare the results of using both methods, mixtures of Kazakhstani oils containing a large amount of resinous compounds and asphaltenes were used. When removing chlorine-containing oils from oils at a temperature not exceeding 100 o С at all three stages of ELOU, the amount of decomposed organochlorine compounds in oil did not exceed 2.9 mg / l, while the process was carried out at the last stage of ELOU at a temperature of 10 o higher than in the previous step, allowed to increase this amount to 12.8 mg / l, and by 30 o C to 30.4 mg / l.
The following example illustrates the implementation of the proposed method.
56%Example. A mixture of Kazakhstan oils, containing about 300 mg / l of total chlorine, including 21 mg / l of mineral chlorides, is subjected to desalination in a two-stage electro-desalting plant. In the first stage, oil heated to 95 o With, mixed with demulsifier and wash water, and then separate the water-salt layer; the residual content of mineral salts after the first stage is 2 mg / l. Then the oil is additionally heated to 160 o C, mixed with 1% aqueous alkali, sent to the second stage electric dehydrator, where the aqueous phase is separated. The residual chloride content after the second stage: mineral 1 mg / l, total chlorine 70 mg / l. Thus, the content of organochlorine compounds in the oil refined by the proposed method is reduced by 75% while in the best known method (2) by 56%
