Description
The present invention relates to a copper foil capable of improving the dimensional stability of a flexible printed circuit board, a manufacturing method thereof, and a flexible copper foil laminated film including the same.
As electronic devices such as notebook computers, mobile phones, PDAs, small video cameras, and electronic notebooks become smaller and lighter, the demand for Flexible Printed Circuit Board (FPCB) and COF (Chip On Film) is increasing. , As a result, the demand for Flexible Copper Clad Laminate (FCCL) used for manufacturing FPCB and COF is also increasing.
Flexible copper clad laminated film is a laminate of a polymer film and a metal layer, and is used for electronic devices or material parts of electronic devices that require flexibility or flexibility, contributing to miniaturization and weight reduction of electronic devices.
In general, the flexible copper clad laminate film may be formed by i) first preparing a copper foil and then coating or laminating a polymer on the copper foil, or ii) depositing copper on the polymer film. In terms of peel strength between the polymer film and the metal layer, the former method can provide a more excellent flexible copper clad laminate than the latter method.
One of the major causes of increasing the defect rate in manufacturing the flexible copper clad laminate is that the flexible copper clad laminated film is bent toward the metal layer or the polymer film, as illustrated in FIG. 1 .
If the warpage of the flexible copper clad laminated film is 20 mm or more, the flexible copper clad laminated film is easily folded or bent in the process of manufacturing the flexible copper clad laminated film through the Roll To Roll (RTR) process, resulting in an increase in the defect rate. This causes an increase in manufacturing cost.
In addition, the flexible copper clad laminate film that is bent more than 20 mm not only significantly lowers the dimensional stability of the FPCB or COF produced therefrom, but also stops the process equipment due to the occurrence of folds/wrinkles of the flexible copper clad laminate during the manufacturing process of FPCB or COF. And restarting is repeated, resulting in a decrease in productivity.
Accordingly, the present invention relates to a copper foil capable of preventing problems due to the limitations and disadvantages of the related art, a manufacturing method thereof, and a flexible copper clad laminate including the same.

Another aspect of the present invention is to provide a flexible copper clad laminate capable of maximizing the dimensional stability of the FPCB or COF as well as improving the productivity thereof by reducing the curvature to less than 20 mm.

Flexible copper clad laminated films were prepared by performing secondary heat treatment for 30 minutes in a chamber of

Degree of bending of flexible copper clad laminated film
Three samples of 10 cm × 10 cm were taken by cutting the flexible copper clad laminate, and the degree of warpage of the flexible copper clad laminate was obtained by measuring the height of the highest part of the three samples. When the warpage occurred toward the copper foil side, 'Cu' was written before the degree of warpage, and when the warpage occurred toward the polyimide layer, 'PI' was written before the degree of warpage.
From Table 2 above, in the case of the flexible copper clad laminated films (Comparative Examples 5 and 7) made of copper foil having a coefficient of thermal expansion exceeding 23 μm/(m·°C), the degree of warpage toward the polyimide layer was 20 mm or more. It can be seen that, in the case of the flexible copper clad laminated films (Comparative Examples 6 and 8) made of copper foil having a coefficient of thermal expansion of less than 14 μm/(m ° C), it can be seen that the degree of bending toward the copper foil side is 20 mm or more.
