제올라이트는 약 350℃ 내지 약 600℃의 온도 범위에서 작동할 수 있다. 본 발명에 따른 촉매에서 사용하기 적합한 제올라이트는 ZSM-5, 모오데나이트, 감마-제올라이트 또는 베타-제올라이트를 포함한다. 이들은 적어도 하나의 금속을 포함할 수 있거나, 또는 적어도 하나의 금속과 금속화될 수 있으며, 이온 교환되거나 함침될 수 있고, 이때 금속은 Cu, Ce, Fe 또는 Pt 중 하나 이상에서 선택될 수 있다.
Claims (42)
- 산화질소(NOx) 흡수제, NOx의 NOx 특이적 반응물과의 선택적 촉매 환원(SCR)의 촉매 작용을 위한 제1 촉매, NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체를 제1 SCR 촉매의 배기 가스 상류에 도입하기 위한 제1 수단 및 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 배기 가스로의 도입을 제어하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 희박 연소 내연 엔진의 배기 가스 처리 장치로서, 제1 SCR 촉매의 적어도 일부가 NOx 흡수제의 상류에 배치되고, 제어 수단은 사용시(a) 제1 SCR 촉매가 배기 가스 중의 NOx의 N2로의 환원에 대해 불활성인 경우 NOx 흡수제가 불충분한 NOx 특이적 반응물과 접촉되어 NOx 흡수제 상에 저장된 전체 NOx를 완전히 환원시키고;(b) 제1 SCR 촉매가 활성인 경우 제1 SCR 촉매가 충분한 NOx 특이적 반응물과 접촉되어 배기 가스 중의 NOx를 N2로 환원시키도록 배열되며, 이로써 제1 SCR 촉매를 빠져나가는 NOx 특이적 반응물이 NOx 흡수제 상에 저장된 NOx를 감소시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 배기 가스 처리 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에, NOx 흡수제가, 저장된 NOx의 환원이 효과적인 온도 이상인 경우에만 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체를 배기 가스에 도입하도록 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에, NOx 흡수제가, NOx 저장이 효과적으로 열 제한되는 온도 이상인 경우에 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 배기 가스로의 도입을 중단시키도록 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 제1 SCR 촉매의 활성을 측정하기 위한 온도 센서를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에, 제1 SCR 촉매가 NOx 특이적 반응물을 NO로 산화시키기에 충분히 고온인 경우 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 배기 가스로의 도입을 중단시키도록 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체를 NOx 흡수제와 제1 SCR 촉매 사이의 배기 가스에 도입하기 위한 제2 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에 제1 SCR 촉매가 NOx의 N2로의 환원에 대해 활성인 경우에만 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체를 배기 가스에 도입하도록 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, NOx 흡수제의 하류에 배치된 제2 SCR 촉매를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 제1 SCR 촉매 및/또는 NOx 흡수제의 하류에 위치된 배기 가스 중의 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 농도를 검출하기 위한 하나 이상의 센서를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제9항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에, 배기 가스 중에서 검출된 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 농도에 반응하여 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 도입을 조절함으로써, NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 누출을 감소시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에, 배기 가스 온도 및/또는 미리 정해둔 엔진 속도/하중 맵의 설정에 반응하여 NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체의 도입을 조절하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 제어 수단은 사용시에, 도입 수단 또는 각 도입 수단을 통해 간헐적으로 그리고 "스파이크" 농도로, 선택적으로 1 초 내지 10 분 사이의 기간 동안, NOx 특이적 반응물 또는 그것의 전구체를 배기 가스에 도입하도록 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 따른 장치를 포함하는, 선택적으로 디젤 엔진인, 희박 연소 내연 엔진.
- 산화질소(NOx) 흡수제 및 NOx의 NOx 특이적 반응물과의 선택적 촉매 환원(SCR)의 촉매 작용을 위한 제1 촉매를 포함하는 장치를 사용하여 희박 연소 내연 엔진의 배기 가스 중의 NOx를 처리하는 방법으로서, 제1 SCR 촉매의 적어도 일부가 NOx 흡수제의 상류에 배치되고, 상기 방법은(i) 제1 SCR 촉매가 NOx의 N2로의 환원에 대해 불활성인 경우, NOx 흡수제가 불충분한 NOx 특이적 반응물과 접촉되어 NOx 흡수제 상에 저장된 전체 NOx를 완전히 환원시키는 것; 및(ii) 제1 SCR 촉매가 NOx의 N2로의 환원에 대해 활성인 경우, 제1 SCR 촉매가 충분한 NOx 특이적 반응물과 접촉되어 배기 가스 중의 NOx를 N2로 환원시킴으로써, 제1 SCR 촉매를 빠져나오는 NOx 특이적 반응물이 NOx 흡수제 상에 저장된 NOx를 감소시키는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 희박 연소 내연 엔진의 배기 가스 중의 NOx를 처리하는 방법.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 제1 SCR 촉매가 활성인 경우, 제1 SCR 촉매가 충분한 NOx 특이적 반응물과 접촉되어 배기 가스 중의 NOx를 N2로 환원시키고, 불충분한 NOx 특이적 반응물이 제1 SCR 촉매를 통과하여 빠져나가 NOx 흡수제에 저장된 전체 NOx를 완전히 환원시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 희박 연소 내연 엔진의 배기 가스 중의 NOx를 처리하는 방법.
