Abstract
본 발명은 신호처리장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것으로서, 상기 신호처리장치는, 영상신호를 수신하는 신호수신부와; 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 영상처리를 수행하는 영상처리부와; 상기 영상처리부에 의해 처리된 영상신호에 기초하여 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이부와; 사용자에 의해 전원이 켜져 있는지 여부를 확인하여, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 주제어부와; 상기 주제어부와 병행하여 상기 디스플레이부를 초기화하는 부제어부를 포함한다. 이에 의하여, 초기화 시간을 단축시켜 사용자의 편의를 향상시킬 수 있다.

본 발명은 신호처리장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 더욱 상세하게는, 본 발명은 초기화 시간을 단축시켜 사용자의 편의를 향상시킬 수 있는 신호처리장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다.
LCD TV와 같은 신호처리장치는 방송국 등으로부터 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호를 수신하거나, VCR, DVD, PC 등과 같은 외부기기로부터 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호를 입력 받아, 수신한 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호에 대하여 적합한 영상처리 및/또는 음성처리를 수행하고 처리된 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호에 기초한 영상 및/또는 음성을 출력한다.
도 1은 종래의 신호처리장치(1)의 구성을 개략적으로 도시한 블록도이다. 신호처리장치(1)는 디스플레이부(14)와, RF(radio frequency) 신호를 수신하는 신호수신부(11)와, 신호수신부(11)로부터 아날로그의 영상신호를 전달받아 디지털 영상신호로 출력하는 디코딩부(12)와, "Component", "HVRGB" 등의 아날로그 영상신호를 입력 받아 디지털 영상신호로 변환하여 출력하는 AD변환부(15)와, "DVI/HDMI" 등의 디지털 영상신호를 입력 받아 이를 역다중화(demultiplexing)하여 출력하는 디지털영상수신부(16)와, 디코딩부(12), AD변환부(15) 및 디지털영상수신부(16) 중 적어도 하나로부터 출력되는 영상신호를 입력 받아 디스플레이부(14)의 특성 및 사용자의 설정에 따라 영상의 해상도를 조정하여 디스플레이부(14)에 출력하는 스케일링부(13)와, 신호수신부(11)로부터 음성이 실려 있는 음성신호를 입력 받아 이에 대하여 음성 디코딩을 수행하거나, "Audio L/R" 신호를 입력 받아 출력하는 음성처리부(17)와, 음성처리부(17)로부터 출력되는 음성신호를 증폭하는 신호증폭부(18)와, 신호증폭부(18)로부터 출력되는 음성신호에 기초하여 음성을 출력하는 음성출력부(19)와, 상기 각 구성을 전반적으로 제어하는 제어부(20)를 포함한다.
이와 같은 신호처리장치(1)의 각 구성은 집적회로 등으로 구현될 수 있으며, 전원이 켜지면 각 구성에 대한 초기화가 필요하다. 예컨대, 모든 구성에 대하여 각각 하드웨어적으로 및/또는 소프트웨어적으로 리셋이 필요하며, 신호수신부(11)에 있어서 "PLL", "차지 펌프(charge pump)" 등의 초기화, 디코딩부(12)에 있어서 "입력 포트 스위칭", "클램핑(Clamping)", "ADC" 설정 등의 초기화가 필요하다. 이러한 각 구성의 초기화에는 소정의 시간을 요하는 것이 많다. 특히, 디스플레이부(14)가 LCD 패널로 구현되는 경우, 패널에 전원을 인가한 후, 백라이트(도시 안됨) 턴온, PWM 디밍(Dimming), 아날로그 디밍(Analog Dimming) 등의 초기화에는 다른 구성에 비하여 상대적으로 많은 시간이 걸린다.
그런데, 종래의 신호처리장치(1)에 있어서는, 하나의 제어부(20)가 다른 모든 구성을 제어하기 때문에, 한 시점에서 하나의 명령 밖에 수행하지 못하는 제한이 있다. 따라서 제어부(20)는 신호처리장치(1)의 전원이 켜진 것으로 확인되면, 각 구성을 소정의 순서에 따라 하나씩 초기화시키게 되며, 모든 구성에 대한 초기화가 종료된 다음 화면에 영상이 표시될 때까지 많은 시간이 소요될 수밖에 없는 문제점이 있었다.
본 발명은 상기 문제점을 해결하기 위한 것으로서, 초기화 시간을 단축시켜 사용자의 편의를 향상시킬 수 있는 신호처리장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
상기 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 발명은, 신호처리장치에 있어서, 영상신호를 수신하는 신호수신부와; 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 영상처리를 수행하는 영상처리부와; 상기 영상처리부에 의해 처리된 영상신호에 기초하여 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이부와; 사용자에 의해 전원이 켜져 있는지 여부를 확인하여, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 주제어부와; 상기 주제어부와 병행하여 상기 디스플레이부를 초기화하는 부제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치를 제공한다.
상기 주제어부는, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것이 효과적이다. 상기 영상처리부는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 디코딩을 수행하는 디코딩부를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 영상처리부는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 스케일링을 수행하는 스케일링부를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 신호수신부는 음성신호를 더 수신하며, 상기 신호처리장치는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 음성신호에 대하여 음성처리를 수행하는 음성처리부를 더 포함할 수 있다. 또한 상기 신호처리장치는, 상기 음성처리부에 의해 처리된 음성신호를 증폭하는 신호증폭부를 더 포함할 수 있다. 또한 상기 신호처리장치는, 상기 신호증폭부에 의해 증폭된 음성신호에 기초하여 음성을 출력하는 음성출력부를 더 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 부제어부는, 상기 주제어부와 병행하여 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부를 초기화할 수 있다.
상기 부제어부는, 상기 디스플레이부, 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것이 효과적이다. 상기 부제어부는, 상기 신호수신부로부터 수신되어 출력되는 음성신호를 처리하도록 상기 음성처리부를 제어할 수 있다.
본 발명의 상기 목적은, 영상신호를 수신하는 신호수신부와; 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 영상처리를 수행하는 영상처리부와; 상기 영상처리부에 의해 처리된 영상신호에 기초하여 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이부를 구비하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법에 있어서, 사용자에 의해 전원이 켜져 있는지 여부를 확인하는 단계와; 사용자에 의해 전원이 켜진 것으로 판단되면, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 단계와; 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부의 초기화와 병행하여 상기 디스플레이부를 초기화하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법에 의해서도 달성된다.
상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 단계에서는, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것이 효과적이다.
상기 신호수신부는 음성신호를 더 수신하며, 상기 신호처리장치는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 음성신호에 대하여 음성처리를 수행하는 음성처리부와; 상기 음성처리부에 의해 처리된 음성신호를 증폭하는 신호증폭부를 더 포함하며, 신 호처리장치의 제어방법은, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부의 초기화와 병행하여 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부를 초기화하는 단계를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 디스플레이부, 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부를 초기화하는 단계에서는, 상기 디스플레이부, 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것이 효과적이다.
상기 신호처리장치의 제어방법은, 상기 신호수신부로부터 수신되는 출력되는 음성신호를 처리하도록 상기 음성처리부를 제어하는 단계를 더 포함할 수 있다.
이하, 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 관하여 상세히 설명한다. 도 2는 본 발명의 일실시예에 의한 신호처리장치(10)의 구성을 개략적으로 도시한 블록도이다. 신호처리장치(10)는 LCD TV, PDP TV, DLP TV 등과 같은 디지털 TV일 수 있다. 신호처리장치(10)는 방송국 등으로부터 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호를 수신하거나, VCR, DVD, PC 등과 같은 외부기기로부터 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호를 입력 받아, 수신한 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호에 대하여 적합한 영상처리 및/또는 음성처리를 수행하고 처리된 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호에 기초한 영상 및/또는 음성을 출력한다. 신호처리장치(10)는 두 개의 제어부(controller)를 구비하여 2이상의 구성의 초기화를 병행함으로써, 초기화 시간을 단축시켜 사용자의 편의를 향상시킨다.
신호처리장치(10)는, 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이, 신호수신부(110)와, 영상처리부(120)와, 디스플레이부(130)와, 주제어부(191)와 부제어부(192)를 포함한다. 신호수신부(110)는 RF(radio frequency) 신호 형태의 영상신호를 수신한다. 신호수 신부(110)는 주제어부(191)의 제어에 따라 사용자가 선택한 채널에 대응하는 주파수로 영상신호의 튜닝을 수행한다. 신호수신부(110)로부터 출력되는 영상신호는 "PIF(picture intermediate frequency)" 등과 같은 중간 주파수에 영상이 실려 있는 형태일 수 있다.
영상처리부(120)는 신호수신부(110)로부터 출력되는 영상신호를 입력 받아, 영상신호에 적합한 영상처리를 수행한다. 영상처리부(120)는 디코딩부(121)와 스케일링부(122)를 포함한다. 디코딩부(121)는 신호수신부(120)로부터 출력되는 아날로그의 영상신호를 전달받아 AD변환, 디코딩 등을 수행하여 디코딩된 디지털 영상신호를 출력한다.
스케일링부(122)는 디코딩부(121)로부터 출력되는 영상신호를 입력 받아, 디스플레이부(130)의 특성 및 사용자의 설정에 따라 영상의 해상도를 조정하여 조정된 영상신호를 디스플레이부(14)에 출력한다.
디스플레이부(130)는 스케일링부(122)로부터 출력되는 영상신호를 입력 받아 이에 기초하여 영상을 디스플레이한다. 디스플레이부(130)는 디스플레이 형태에 따라 LCD 패널, PDP 패널 등을 포함할 수 있다.
주제어부(191)는 신호수신부(110) 및 영상처리부(120)를 전반적으로 제어한다. 주제어부(191)는 사용자에 의해 전원이 켜졌는지 여부를 확인하여 신호수신부(110) 및 영상처리부(120)를 초기화한다. 이 경우 신호처리장치(10)는 사용자입력부(102)를 더 포함할 수 있으며, 주제어부(191)는 사용자입력부(102)를 통하여 사용자의 입력 정보를 전달 받을 수 있다. 사용자입력부(102)는 리모컨 등으로 구현 될 수 있다.
주제어부(191)는 신호수신부(110)에 대하여, "PLL", "Charge Pump", "SAW Filter", "AGC" 등을 초기화시키며, 디코딩부(121)에 대하여, "입력 포트 스위칭", "클램핑(Clamping)", "ADC 설정", "출력 포맷(output format) 설정" 등을 초기화시키며, 스케일링부(122)에 대하여, "입력 포트 스위칭", "콘트라스트(Contrast)/밝기(Brightness)/색상(Color)/틴트(Tint) 설정" 등의 초기화를 수행한다.
주제어부(191)는 각 구성의 초기화에 있어서, 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것이 바람직하다. 예컨대, 주제어부(191)는 신호수신부(110), 디코딩부(121) 및 스케일링부(122) 중에서 스케일링부(122)의 초기화 시간이 가장 길다면, 이들 중 스케일링부(122)를 가장 먼저 초기화시킬 수 있다.
또한 주제어부(191)는 사용자의 설정정보에 기초하여 각 구성을 초기화할 수 있다. 예컨대, 주제어부(191)는 사용자가 전원을 끄기 직전에 시청하고 있는 채널번호, 볼륨, 화면조정상태 등의 정보에 기초하여, 각 정보에 대응하는 구성을 초기화한다. 이 경우, 신호처리장치(10)는 정보저장부(102)를 더 포함할 수 있으며, 사용자의 설정정보는 정보저장부(102)에 저장되는 것이 바람직하다.
부제어부(192)는 주제어부(191)와 통신하면서, 주제어부(191)와 병행하여 디스플레이부(130)를 초기화시킨다. 예컨대, 신호처리장치(10)가 LCD TV인 경우, 부제어부(192)는 디스플레이부(130)에 대하여, "패널 전원 인가", "백라이트(도시 안됨) 턴온", "PWM 디밍(Dimming)", "아날로그 디밍(Analog Dimming)" 등의 초기화를 수행한다.
신호처리장치(10)는 신호수신부(110)로부터 음성이 실려 있는 음성신호를 입력 받아 이에 대하여 음성 디코딩을 수행하거나, "Audio L/R" 신호를 입력 받아 출력하는 음성처리부(160)와, 음성처리부(160)로부터 출력되는 음성신호를 증폭하는 신호증폭부(170)와, 신호증폭부(170)로부터 출력되는 음성신호에 기초하여 음성을 출력하는 음성출력부(180)를 더 포함할 수 있다. 음성출력부(180)는 스피커 등으로 구현된다.
이 경우, 부제어부(192)는 디스플레이부(130)뿐만 아니라, 음성처리부(160)와 신호증폭부(170)에 대하여도 초기화를 수행한다. 음성처리부(160)의 경우, "음성 포트(sound port) 스위칭", "프레스케일(prescale)", "디엠퍼시스(deemphasis)", "이퀄라이저(Equalizer)", "밸런스(Balance)" 등의 초기화가 수행되며, 신호증폭부(170)의 경우, "볼륨", "뮤트(mute on/off)" 등의 초기화가 수행된다.
부제어부(192)도, 주제어부(191)와 마찬가지로, 각 구성의 초기화에 있어서, 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것이 바람직하다.
신호처리장치(10)는 "Component", "HVRGB" 등의 아날로그 영상신호를 입력 받아 디지털 영상신호로 변환하여 출력하는 AD변환부(140)와, "DVI/HDMI" 등의 디지털 영상신호를 입력 받아 이를 역다중화(demultiplexing)하여 출력하는 디지털영상수신부(150)를 더 포함하여, 다양한 포맷의 영상신호를 입력 받아 처리할 수 있다. 이 경우, 스케일링부(122)는 AD변환부(140)와 디지털영상수신부(150)로부 터 출력되는 영상신호에 대하여 스케일링을 수행한다.
주제어부(191) 및 부제어부(192)는 초기화가 완료되면, 영상신호 및/또는 음성신호를 입력 받아 이에 대하여 영상 및/또는 음성을 출력하도록 각 구성을 제어한다. 즉, 주제어부(191) 및 부제어부(192)는 대응하는 구성에 대한 설정(setting)을 수행한다. 이 경우, 주제어부(191) 및 부제어부(192)는 입력되는 신호에 기초하여 각 구성의 설정을 수행한다.
예컨대, 신호수신부(110)의 경우, "PLL", "Charge Pump", "SAW Filter", "AGC" 등이 설정되며, 디코딩부(121)의 경우, "입력 신호 표준 인식(input signal standard recognition)", "필터 설정", "믹서(mixer) 설정" 등이 수행된다. 또한, 스케일링부(122)의 경우, "캡쳐/디스플레이(Capture/Display) 설정", "스케일링 계수(scaling coefficient) 설정" 등이 설정되며, 음성처리부(160)의 경우, "입력 신호 표준 인식(input signal standard recognition)", "필터 설정" 등이 수행된다.
이 경우, 부제어부(192)는 주제어부(191)로부터 전달되는 정보에 의해 신호수신부(110)의 설정이 완료되었는지 여부를 확인하여, 신호수신부(110)로부터 출력되는 음성신호에 기초하여 음성처리부(160)의 설정을 수행한다. 신호수신부(110)로부터 출력되는 음성신호는 "SIF(sound intermediate frequency)" 등과 같은 중간 주파수에 음성이 실려 있는 형태일 수 있다.
본 실시예의 주제어부(191) 및 부제어부(192) 각각은 CPU와 같은 마이크로프로세서에 의해 실행되는 컴퓨터프로그램으로 구현될 수 있다.
도 3은 본 실시예에 의한 신호처리장치(10)의 제어방법을 도시한 흐름도이다. 사용자에 의해 전원이 켜졌는지 여부를 확인하고(S100), 켜져 있는 것으로 확인되면, "주제어(main control)"의 흐름으로서, 신호처리장치(10)의 신호수신부(110), 디코딩부(121), AD변환부(140), 디지털비디오수신부(150) 등의 초기화를 수행한다(S101). "주제어(main control)"와 시간적으로 병행하는 "부제어(sub control)"의 흐름으로서, 신호처리장치(10)의 음성처리부(160), 디스플레이부(130), 신호증폭부(170) 등의 초기화를 수행한다(S111).
신호수신부(110), 디코딩부(121), AD변환부(140), 디지털비디오수신부(150) 등의 초기화가 완료되면, "주제어(main control)"의 흐름으로서, 입력되는 영상신호에 기초하여 신호수신부(110)를 설정한다(S102). 신호수신부(110)의 설정이 완료되면, 신호수신부(110)로부터 출력된 영상신호에 기초하여 디코딩부(121)를 설정한다(S103). 디코딩부(121)의 설정이 완료되면, 디코딩부(121)로부터 출력된 영상신호에 기초하여 스케일링부(122)를 설정한다(S104).
한편, "부제어(sub control)"의 흐름으로서, 신호수신부(110)의 설정이 완료되었는지 여부를 확인하여(S112), 완료되었으면, 신호수신부(110)로부터 출력되는 음성신호에 기초하여 음성처리부(160)를 설정한다(S113).
이상, 바람직한 실시예를 통하여 본 발명에 관하여 상세히 설명하였으나, 본 발명은 이에 한정되는 것은 아니며 특허청구범위 내에서 다양하게 실시될 수 있다.
상기한 바와 같이, 본 발명에 의하면, 초기화 시간을 단축시켜 사용자의 편 의를 향상시킬 수 있는 신호처리장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공할 수 있다.
Claims (15)
- 신호처리장치에 있어서,영상신호를 수신하는 신호수신부와;상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 영상처리를 수행하는 영상처리부와;상기 영상처리부에 의해 처리된 영상신호에 기초하여 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이부와;사용자에 의해 전원이 켜져 있는지 여부를 확인하여, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 주제어부와;상기 주제어부와 병행하여 상기 디스플레이부를 초기화하는 부제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 주제어부는, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 영상처리부는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 디코딩을 수행하는 디코딩부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 영상처리부는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 스케일링을 수행하는 스케일링부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 신호수신부는 음성신호를 더 수신하며,상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 음성신호에 대하여 음성처리를 수행하는 음성처리부를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 음성처리부에 의해 처리된 음성신호를 증폭하는 신호증폭부를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 신호증폭부에 의해 증폭된 음성신호에 기초하여 음성을 출력하는 음성출력부를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 부제어부는, 상기 주제어부와 병행하여 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호 증폭부를 초기화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 부제어부는, 상기 디스플레이부, 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 부제어부는, 상기 신호수신부로부터 수신되어 출력되는 음성신호를 처리하도록 상기 음성처리부를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치.
- 영상신호를 수신하는 신호수신부와; 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 영상신호에 대하여 영상처리를 수행하는 영상처리부와; 상기 영상처리부에 의해 처리된 영상신호에 기초하여 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이부를 구비하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법에 있어서,사용자에 의해 전원이 켜져 있는지 여부를 확인하는 단계와;사용자에 의해 전원이 켜진 것으로 판단되면, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 단계와;상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부의 초기화와 병행하여 상기 디스플레이부를 초기화하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부를 초기화하는 단계에서는, 상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법.
- 제11항 또는 제12항에 있어서,상기 신호수신부는 음성신호를 더 수신하며,상기 신호처리장치는, 상기 신호수신부에 의해 수신된 음성신호에 대하여 음성처리를 수행하는 음성처리부와; 상기 음성처리부에 의해 처리된 음성신호를 증폭하는 신호증폭부를 더 포함하며,상기 신호수신부 및 상기 영상처리부의 초기화와 병행하여 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부를 초기화하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 디스플레이부, 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부를 초기화하는 단계에서는, 상기 디스플레이부, 상기 음성처리부 및 상기 신호증폭부 중 초기화 시간이 긴 것을 우선적으로 초기화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 신호수신부로부터 수신되는 출력되는 음성신호를 처리하도록 상기 음성처리부를 제어하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호처리장치의 제어방법.
