Abstract
Description
상기에서 ITO 전극(4)(4') 표면 각각에 서로 교호하게 형성된 유전체 리브(Rib; 14)는 구동시 전계를 왜곡되게 발생시켜 액정분자(12)의 동작 방향이 좌우 대칭이 되게 하여 시야각이 넓어질 수 있도록 하는 것이다.
Claims (5)
- 박막 트랜지스터와 제 1 ITO 전극이 형성된 하부기판과,상기 하부기판과 대향되게 형성되고 표면에 컬러필터를 개재시켜 제 2 ITO 전극이 형성된 상부기판과,상기 제 1 ITO 전극 상에 상기 박막 트랜지스터를 덮도록 형성된 패시베이션막으로 형성된 제 1 유전체 리브와,상기 제 2 ITO 전극 상에 제 1 유전체 리브와 대향하면서 교호하도록 형성된 제 2 유전체 리브와,상기 제 1 및 제 2 ITO 전극 상에 상기 제 1 및 제 2 유전체 리브를 덮도록 각각 형성된 절연층과,상기 각각의 절연층 사이에 액정 분자들이 채워져 전계 발생시 상기 제 1 및 제 2 유전체 리브를 중심으로 상기 액정 분자들이 좌우로 대칭되어 경사각을 갖는 액정부를 포함하는 광시야각의 수직배향 액정표시장치.

- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 유전체 리브의 유전율은 상기 액정 분자의 유전율보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 광시야각의 수직배향 액정표시장치.
