所の故障検知を行なわせるプログラムを格納した記憶装
置と、前記公衆電話機のオフフックにより前記プログラ
ム゛を実行し前記プログラムにしたがって前記検査箇所
の初期状態を瞬時の間にチェックして故障検知を行なう
プロセッサと、該プロセッサの制御に基づき故障の有無
を検知し−□ たときに電話回線を介して交換機
に対し監視信号の送信を行ないまたは前記監視信号の送
信停止を行なう監視信号送信器とを前記公衆電話機へ備
えると共に、前記監視信号を受信する監視信号受信器と
、該信号受信器の受信出力により故障した公衆電話機を
識別して表示する表示器とを前記交換機側へ備え、公衆
電話機の自己診断に基づく故障の検知有無を交換機側に
おいて監視できるものとしたことを特徴とする公衆電話
