Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the moldability and the capacity of a silver oxide battery by using AgO grains, which are prepared by coating parts of the surface of granulated AgO grains having a given grain diameter with resin layers, and reducing the other exposed parts of the surface into silver layers. CONSTITUTION:A silver oxide battery is constituted by use of a positive electrode, which is prepared by molding silver (II) oxide (AgO) used as a positive active material, and a negative electrode made of an amalgamated zinc. As the former AgO, granulated AgO grains with a grain diameter of 10-100mum is used. Then parts of the surface of the AgO grains are coated with resin layers (b), and the other parts of the surface uncoated is reduced so as to form silver layers (c). The resin layers (b) are formed by spraying a solution of a resin, such as vinylchloride resin or styrene resin, over the AgO grains. The silver layers (c) are formed making the AgO grains coated with the resin layers (b) to be reduced in a reducing solution.
