Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the transfer of antimony from a positive plate to negative plate and prevent the self discharge by covering with an insulating coating a part of a collecting lug which is soaked in an electrolyte and using a separating plate the air permeability of which is higher than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A positive collector 7 of lead alloy containing antimony is buried in a positibe active material (PbO2) 8 except collecting lug part 9, the periphery of the positive active material 8 is protected with a porous tube 10. The collecting lug part 9 of the positive collector 7 is covered with an electrolyte resistant insulating coating 15 except the connecting part to a strap 13. The strap 13 and connecting part 14 are above the surface of the electrolyte 17 to maintain the collecting lug part 9 and strap 13 untouched to the electrolyte. A separating plate 5 with air permeability of not less than 100 is used to prevent effectively the dissolution of antimony.
