Abstract
PURPOSE: To apply a deep drawing process to a blank without generating wrinkles and cracks caused by a local elongation, by practicing a main drawing process uninterruptedly following to a preforming process, in case of applying a one-step deep drawing process with a punch and an upper die to a blank clamped between a lower die-cushion and the upper die.
CONSTITUTION: In case of practicing a deep drawing process to form a relatively violently uneven, curved surface of a roof side inner panel, etc., of an automobile, for example, a blank panel 2 is put on a lower die-cushion 5 and is clamped down by an upper die 12. The die 12 goes down together with the die-cushion 5 in one body in the next process B, and a process C of the blank panel 2 by the collaboration of the die 12 and a preforming punch 11 is started at a preset position of the punching stroke. At a stage where the preforming process transfers from the process C to the process D which is carried out by a collaboration of a punch 8, the length l1 of the preformed cross section becomes larger than its original length l2 before the preforming process. In the process D, the preforming process is advanced to a main forming process carried out by a collaboration of the die 12 and the punch 8; an elastic body 10 is set so as to cope with the forming load of the process D.
