Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the forming limit, to make unnecessary the conventional shallow drawing, and to reduce the working man-hour, in the burring work for the metallic sheet, by carrying out the burring work under the condition that the compression stress is being impressed on the worked part of above metallic sheet.
CONSTITUTION: The blank 6 to be worked, in which a hole 7 is pierced, is pressed to set by the blank-holder pad 4 and the dies 3. Next, the burring punch 1 is moved upward for working to give a deformation to the blank 6. Hereupon, the spring 5 is compressed, and a compression load is impressed on the blank 6 by the punch 1 and the backup punch 2. The deformation proceeds within the field of this compression stress, and the burring work is completed. Since the burring work is carried out under the condition that the worked part is being impressed with the compression stress, the deformability of the matrial increases, and the forming limit of the burring work can be increased. Besides, since the conventional shallow drawing becomes unnecessary, the working man-hour is reduced.
