Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize an occupied space for a carrying body and to simplify a whole construction, by providing many electrode pairs constituted of the second electrodes which are located through the first electrodes and a space for charging on a surface part of a developing agent carrying body and forming AC electric field with the first and second electrodes in the charging space. CONSTITUTION:A developing drum 12 of toner carrying body, which is formed with the first electrodes 21A projected on an insulator supporting body layer 20 provided on a base body on its surface part and formed of many electrode pairs consisting of the second electrodes 21B through insulation materials 22, is constituted. AC electric source is connected between the first and second electrodes so that AC magnetic field is formed. Therefore, toner particles T supplied to a surface part of the drum 12 is vibrated as an arrow and charged with the action of AC electric field in the space for charging along a side of the insulation materials 22 between the first and second electrodes 21A and 21B consisting of electrode pairs. By this way, an occupied space is minimized and a whole construction is greatly simplified.
