Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a large-electrostatic capacity and small- attenuation primary electrostatic latent image, by using a prescribed photosensitive screen where a photoconductive material layer, an insulating layer, and a conductive layer are provided on the conductive material having many minute apertures. CONSTITUTION:Photosensitive screen 5 has photoconductive layer 2 and insulating layer 3 on conductive material 1 consisting of stainless materials and so on having many minute apertures, and further, another conductive material layer 4 is provided on insulating layer 3 in one face of photosensitive screen 5. For the purpose of using this photosensitive screen 5 to a primary electrostatic latent image, the charging means such as corona discharge equipment 6 is used to charge insulating layer 3 with electricity uniformly with the negative polarity while applying the bias voltage between conductive material 1 and conductive layer 4 from the face (B face side) in the conductive layer 4 side so that conductive layer 4 may be the negative pole. Next, the surface potential of insulating layer 3 is made positive (the dark part is negative as it is) by picture irradiation and corona discharge 9 to form the primary electrostatic latent image, and after that, a secondary electrostatic latent image is formed on recording material 10.
