Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce useless power consumption during the lightly loaded and thus realize low power consumption, by detecting magnitude of the load of a step motor through the integration of a drive current waveform and then controlling the drive pulse duration. CONSTITUTION:The pulse current of the fixed duration is applied to the drive coil 62 from the dividing circuit 28 via drivers 56 and 58, and thus the step motor turns. This drive current is converted into the voltage by the operational amplifier 66 in the current integral network 64 and via the drivers 56 and 58 each. Thus an integration is given to the integral network consisting of the capacitor 72 and the resistance 70 connected to the FF72 and 74, etc. which receive the ON/OFF control in accordance with the drive of the coil 62. Then the voltage is applied to the opertional amplifier 88 to which the reference voltage corresponding to the integral voltage during the light load of the control circuit 86. And the FF94 is set by the amplifier 88 when the load of the step motor increases, and the AND gates 32 and 34 are controlled via the OR circuit 98. Thus the broad division output supplied from the circuit 28 is turned into the drive pulse. As a result, the useless power consumption is reduced during the lightly loaded.
