Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the infrared ray radiator of high emissivity and superior durability by evenly roughing the surfaces of a stainless steel material to the specified roughness then forming oxide films thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The surfaces of a stainless steel material are evenly controlled of surface roughness to 1 to 10μ through chemical etching, anodic electrolysis, mechanical polishing, shot blasting, grit blasting, etc. The roughened surfaces are processed by using a molten salt method, sulfide oxidation method, alkaline oxidation method, acidic oxidation method, electrolytic coloring method, etc. Whereby oxide films are formed thereon. This yields the radiator of high emissivity and high temperature durability suited for radiating infrared rays of long wavelengths. This radiator is adapted to infrared ray radiators, etc. for coating film baking, drying, etc. of painted products.
