Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily manufacture the title uniform eaves trough in a good yield by etching a copper surface with an etchant; coating the etched surface with an artificial patina liquid; further coating the artificial patina layer with water sol. transparent coating; and forming the resulting material into an eaves trough shape.
CONSTITUTION: The copper surface of copper sheet or copper-plated metal sheet 1 is degreased and repeatedly coated with an etchant consisting of copper sulfate, acetic acid, NaCl, patina, etc. blended with water to etch the surface. When the surface turns brown and roughens, it is washed with water, dried, and coated with an artificial patina liquid by means of a spray gun or the like, forming artificial patina layer 2. By drying and washing with water, the bluish green becomes more fresh. The liquid used consists of hydrochloric acid, copper acetate, copper carbonate, arsenious acid, NH4Cl, copper nitrate, etc. blended with water. Layer 2 is then coated with water sol. transparent coating 3 such as water sol. acrylic clear lacquer, and the resulting material is passed through a bender to be formed into an eaves trough shape.
