Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect gas securely from leaking by a method wherein the gas flow rate in the upper part and the total gas flow rates in the downstream part are compared and when the difference exceeds a specified value, the gas passage is choked. CONSTITUTION:A gas flow rate detector 1 is provided in the upper part of a gas passage 10 so as to detect a gas flow rate as an electric value and a gas flow rate detectors 3a-3n are provided in the lower part so as to detect each gas flow rate of gas appliances 14a-14n. When a detected value by a gas flow rate detector 1 in the upstream and total detected values by the gas flow rate detectors 3a-3n in the lower stream are compared, and its difference exceeds a specified value, it is determined as the gas leakage at the middle of the piping, and a gas passage 10 is choked by an electromagnetic valve 2. Thus, the gas leakage in the middle of the piping is detected securely irrespective of external causes and the gas leakage can be protected.
