Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.環境的媒体中の低濃度の有機化合物を環境的に監視する、次のことからなる 方法: 有機化合物をサンプリングするために、拡散セルを環境的媒体中に置き、こ の拡散セルは重合体膜を有し、この膜の中へ、そしてそれを通して有機化合物が 拡散し、この重合体膜は環境的媒体とキャリアー流体のゾーンとの隔壁をなして いる; 拡散セルにキャリアー流体を供給し、このキャリアー流体が環境的媒体中の 有機化合物の濃度と実質的に平衡する有機化合物の濃度を獲得し、使用に当たっ て、環境的媒体中の低濃度レベルの有機化合物が、比較的に高感度で検出される ; キャリアー流体中の有機化合物を監視し、環境的媒体中の有機化合物を示す 出力信号を提供する。 2.拡散セルを通してのキャリアー流体の流量を特定のものにすること、そして 環境的媒体中の化合物のそれぞれの濃度レベルを計算するために、それぞれの有 機化合物の平衡定数を使用することを含む、請求の範囲1に記載の方法。 3.検出されるべき複数の有機化合物の平衡定数を決定するために、ヘンリーの 法則による係数を使用することを含む、請求の範囲2に記載の方法。 4.実験データを作成するために、環境的媒体中の既知の有機化合物の既知の濃 度で実験を行い、そしてキャリアー流体の所定の流量を選定して、上記のデータ を使用して較正を行うことを含む、請求の範囲1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載 の方法。 5.拡散セル中の有機化合物の異なった吸着特性を決定するために既知の有機化 合物を用いて予備実験を行うこと、及び異なった有機化合物の異なった吸着レベ ルに由来する応答特性を実質的に最小にするために所定のキャリアー流体の流量 を決定することを含む、請求の範囲4に記載の方法。 6.拡散セルから出るキャリアー流体を処理すること、及び該キャリアー流体中 の有機化合物を検出しレベルを決定することを含む、請求の範囲1ないし5のい ずれか1項に記載の方法。 7.検出段階の前に、キャリアー流体中の有機化合物をさらに濃縮することを含 む、請求の範囲6に記載の方法。 8.有機化合物を濃縮するために熱脱着チューブを使用すること、及びリアルタ イム分析を行うためにコンパクトなソリッドステート検出器を使用することを含 む、請求の範囲7に記載の方法。 9.キャリアー流体として高純度の空気又は窒素を使用する、請求の範囲1ない し8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 10.キャリアー流体が10ml/分より少ない流量で供給される、請求の範囲 1ないし9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 11.拡散セルを通しての流れがないようにキャリアー流体に対して閉鎖系にし ておくことを含む、請求の範囲1ないし9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 12.ベンゼン、トルエン、エチルベンゼン、キシレン、ブロモホルム、トリク ロロエタン及びメタンからなる群からの1及び1以上の有機化合物を監視するた めに処理がなされる、請求の範囲1ないし11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 13.有機化合物の半定量的リアルタイム監視をするための操作がなされる、請 求の範囲1ないし12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 14.濃縮手段が熱脱着チューブ、加熱手段及び制御手段を備え、長期にわたっ て熱脱着チューブによる吸着を制御し、比較的短時間で加熱手段を活性化して有 機化合物を脱着し監視のために検出器に供給する、請求の範囲1ないし10又は 12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 15.以下のことを包含する環境的媒体中の低濃度レベルの有機化合物のその場 でのリアルタイム監視に使用する装置: 環境的媒体中の有機化合物を拡散によりサンプリングするための拡散セル; サンプリングされた有機化合物を濃縮するための拡散セルと流体的に連結し た濃縮手段;及び 有機化合物を検出するための濃縮手段と流体的に連結した検出器、これは使 用において、環境的媒体中の低濃度レベルの有機化合物を比較的高度な感度で検 出することができる。
