Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 技術分野 本発明は、椅子、特に、使用時に背当て部をリクライ
ニングさせることができ、また、使用しないときに高密
度に積み重ねて収納することが可能な椅子に関する。
背景技術 安価な安価な積重ね型の椅子は、当業者に公知であ
る。しかし、そのような椅子の設計は、座り心地、つま
り人間工学を考慮することなく、むしろ通常は最小の占
有空間をもって格納させることのできる、臨機使用のた
めの大量の簡易椅子を与えることを目的とする。そのよ
うな椅子は、椅子の背当て部分の撓み自在性が或る程度
制限されて、人間工学的利点を与えないことがある。
近年、より優れた人間工学的設計が大いに注目され、
その結果、リクラインの能力が含まれて、腰部の支持を
与える、様々な設計を具現する家庭用および事務所用の
椅子が出現した。しかし、そのような人間工学的設計
は、安価な椅子を与えない。よって、人間工学的設計の
利点を安価な積重ね型椅子に組合わせることが望ましい
であろう。
発明の開示 座部が取付けられ、背当て部が枢動自在に取付けられ
る単一の連続フレームが設けられる、傾け自在型背当て
部を持つ高密度に積重ね可能な椅子が与えられる。背当
て部の傾けとフレームの撓みとで椅子の人間工学的調整
が得られ、フレームの撓みが背当て部を通常の垂直位置
に付勢して、積重ねを容易にし、また一様な外観を与え
る。背当て部は曲線状で、中空であり、フレームの上方
および下方曲線部分においてフレームに係合する。フレ
ームの該両部分の曲率半径は背当て部のそれよりも小さ
く、また該両部分は、垂直位置における該部分の有効水
平方向半径が実際の半径よりも小さくて、背当て部が曲
線部分に当たって止まり、椅子背当て部の前方への傾き
を制限するような下向き角度位置にある。背当て部が傾
く時、放射状運動により、半径の違いのために曲線部分
から背当て部が離れ、結局、有効半径が再び等しくな
り、背当て部が再びフレームの曲線部分に当たって止ま
って、後方への傾きを制限する傾き角度になる。
本発明の原理を採用する説明的実施例を記載する以下
の詳細な説明および添付図面を参照することにより、本
発明の特徴および利点がより良く理解されるであろう。
図面の簡単な説明 図１は本発明によって作られた椅子である。
図２は本発明によって作られた椅子の望ましい実施例
である。
図３ないし図５は図１の３−３線に沿う、後方への傾
きの範囲にわたって延在する椅子を示す断面図である。
図６は図４の６−６線に沿う、本発明による椅子の平
面断面図である。
図７は本発明による椅子の斜視図である。
発明の詳細な説明 ここで図１を参照すると、本発明による第一の実施例
が図示される。フレーム10、座部20および背当て部30の
３つの主要部がある。背当て部は使用者の背中に合うよ
うに曲線形であり、前方部分32と後方部分34からなり、
その各々は、取付けられた時、両部分の間に中空の内部
空間を作るように、へり33、35その他のスペーサを有す
る。
フレーム10は理想的には連続構造であり、無空の棒ま
たは鋼管等から構成される。代わりに、溶接その他で連
結された部分から成ることもできる。フレーム10は、両
端に円筒形軸受け部12aを持つ背当て部30の中に包まれ
て、背当て部の中央を通って横方向に延伸して下方に傾
く上方曲線部12を有する。背当て部30は円筒形部分12a
においてフレーム10に枢動自在に取り付けられており、
一方、フレーム10は上方曲線部12の両端が存する内部空
間から外側に延伸している。この枢動取付けは前方部分
32に取付けられた軸受によって行うことができるが、プ
ラスチック成型された前方および後方部分32、34上に形
成された支承表面12bを設けることにより行うことが望
ましい。
フレーム10は１対の後方支持脚16を有する。後方支持
脚16は、床面に達するまで後方及び下方に延伸し、か
つ、そこから床面に沿って前方へ延伸している。つぎ
に、１対の前方支持脚18が、上方かつ後方に座部20まで
延在し、さらに後方に延在して座部20を支持し、さらに
僅かに内方に曲がってから上方に、背当て部30の中に入
り、つぎに内方に延在し、そこで枢動結合部12a、12bに
似た態様で背当て部が再び枢動自在に取付けられる。フ
レーム10は、背当て部の内部に包まれ、下方への傾き角
をもって背当て部の中に延在する下方曲線部14に接続す
る。フレーム10が床上に静止する時のフレームの対向す
る脚の間の距離d1は座部20の幅d2よりも小さく設計され
ており、従って椅子を積み重ねるときに椅子の脚が座部
を挟みつけるので積重ねが容易になる。
図２の望ましい実施例において、フレーム10の座部支
持部は座部20のへりよりも内方の位置にあり、座部の支
持とフレームの横安定を高めるために溶接支柱22によっ
て結合される。図７において、そのような横安定は１対
の安定材50、52によって与えることができる。さらに、
フレーム10への座部の取付け、取外しを容易にするため
に、座部20の下面にクリップ24が取付けられる。
背当て部30は単体の成型ユニットであり、円筒部12a
において後方支持脚16に枢動係合するようにされた開口
部またはクリップ40を有する。開口部またはクリップ42
も同様に、前方支持脚18に枢動係合するようにされる。
よって、背当て部30は容易に、またしっかりとフレーム
10に取付けることができる。曲線部12、14は、後述する
ように、枢動の限界を与えるように、フレーム10に対し
て固定位置に保たれる。
ここで図３ないし図５を参照すると、背当て部30の傾
け作用が図解される。図３のように、椅子が垂直位置に
ある時、フレーム10の後方支持脚16は、背当て部30を前
方に保持する自然のバネ作用を与えるように、前傾角を
有する。
フレーム10の曲線部12、14は平行であり、これらの曲
線部は共に、背当て部を横断する面（背当て部の上下方
向に直交する面であり、図３における水平面）と22.5゜
の角度をなし、外方（図３において右側）かつ下方（床
側）に延伸する。前記背当て部横断面から22.5゜傾いた
面における両曲線部12、14の曲率半径は、背当て部横断
面における背当て部の曲率半径よりも小さい。しかし、
背当て部横断面へ投影した曲線部12、14の曲率半径（有
効半径）は、背当て部30の曲率半径に等しい。それ故、
曲線部12、14の有効半径が背当て部30の半径に等しい結
果として、背当て部30の前方部分32の外側は箇所36、37
において曲線部12、14に接触している（図３参照）。
使用者が椅子にもたれ掛ることにより前方部分32が上
方曲線部上の軸50回りに枢動すると、前方部分の上半分
は後方に回転し、下半分は前方に回転する。これにより
下方曲線部14が前方へ回転して座部20が持ち上がること
にも注目されたい。背当て部横断面は、水平面に対して
おおよそ22.5゜傾き、曲線部12、14の傾きと一致してい
る（この状態が図４に示されている）。上述したように
両曲線部の曲率半径は背当て部30の曲率半径よりも小さ
いので、図４に示す状態において、背当て部30は曲線部
の手前の方へ浮き上がっている。
図５に示すように、背当て部が更に傾くと、背当て部
は、背当て部上の点であって下方に回転してくる点38、
39において曲線部に再度当接する。背当て部は水平面に
対しておおよそ45゜傾いており（即ち、前記背当て部横
断面は曲線部に対しておおよそ22.5゜傾いている）、こ
こでの背当て部の有効半径は曲線部の半径に再び等しく
なる。点38、39が湾曲部12、14と接するように背当て部
が傾斜した位置がリクライニングの位置の限度であり、
背当て部は、このリクライニング限度位置において湾曲
部12に当接して、これ以上の回転傾斜が制限されてい
る。
曲線部12、14のフレーム構造全体に対する関係は図６
において更に明白に示されており、フレームの１部分の
直線状の円筒部12aが支承領域となっている。
本発明が前記実施例の特性によって制限されることは
意図されず、添付の請求の範囲によって定義されること
は当然である。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】（ａ）使用者が座る座部と、（ｂ）前記座
    部にほぼ垂直に設けられ使用者の背中が当たる背当て部
    であって、上端と下端とを備え、前記上端と下端との間
    に上部領域と下部領域を有する背当て部と、（ｃ）前記
    座部及び前記背当て部を支持する可撓性のフレームとを
    有する椅子であって、 前記可撓フレームは、 （ｉ） 前記座部の両側に位置する１対の支持脚であっ
    て、各々の支持脚が、（１）前記背当て部上端の直下に
    設けた前記上部領域において枢動部に枢動自在に取り付
    けられ可撓性かつ復元性を有する後脚部と、（２）床面
    に沿って延伸する底脚部と、（３）前記座部を支持する
    ため前記座部の前部に向かって上方へ延伸する前脚部と
    を有する支持脚と、 （ii） 前記座部の後部を前記座部よりも高い位置にお
    いて前記背当て部下部領域に枢動自在に連結する枢動連
    結部とを含んでなり、 前記使用者の背中が前記背当て部に当たったときに、
    前記可撓フレームと前記枢動連結部とが協働して、前記
    背当て部を後方に回転傾斜させながら、前記背当て部の
    復元力に抗して前記背当て部下端を前方に押し出して前
    記背当て部が前記使用者の背中を支持するレバーとして
    作用するように設けた、可撓性椅子。
  2. 【請求項２】請求項１の可撓性椅子であって、前記背当
    て部の前記上部領域における前記枢動部及び前記下部領
    域における前記枢動連結部は、前記背当て部を横断する
    方向に延伸しかつ前記背当て部の前記回転傾斜を所定の
    リクライニング限度位置までに制限する湾曲支持部（1
    2、14）を含んでなる椅子。
