Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は閉鎖部材（closure）に関連し、そ
して詳細には、一体成形ヒンジ（integral
hinge）によつて閉鎖部材の（キヤツプ以外の）
残存部に接続される様なキヤツプ（cap）を備え
るタイプの閉鎖部材に関連する。
発明の背景及び概要 容器用に提供された閉鎖部材であつて、該閉鎖
部材はキヤツプを備え、該キヤツプは一体成形ヒ
ンジによつて容器上の閉鎖部材の部分にヒンジ結
合されている前記閉鎖部材が色々と提案されてい
た。通常、その様な閉鎖部材は、スナツプ動作
（snap action）を提供する為の、ヒンジ上におけ
る張力（tension）に依存している。典型的な構
成は、米国特許第3628215号、第3629901号、第
3933271号、第4047495号、第4386714号において
示されている。
本発明の目的は分配閉鎖部材（dispensing
closure）を提供する事であり、該閉鎖部材はキ
ヤツプを有し、該キヤツプは閉鎖位置に向けて動
く際および閉鎖位置から動く際にスナツプ動作を
伴つて作動し；該閉鎖部材は最小のヒンジ突出部
を有し、その結果、高速充填ライン（high
speed filling lines）が達成され、従つて非常に
速いライン速度が許容され；該閉鎖部材は小さな
輪郭（low profile）を提供し；該閉鎖部材は製
造する事が比較的容易であり；該閉鎖部材は一方
の手によつて操作する事が出来て；該閉鎖部材は
容易に開放する注ぎ口を有し；該閉鎖部材におい
ては注ぎ口（spout）は自動的に清浄化（self−
cleaning）され、且つ該注ぎ口は湿気に対するシ
ールを提供する。
本発明に従えば、スナツプタイプのヒンジキヤ
ツプを伴つた閉鎖部材は第１部分と第２部分と一
体成形ヒンジとを含み、該第１部分は容器の開放
首部と相互係合する事に適合し、該第２部分はキ
ヤツプを形成し、そして該ヒンジは第１部分と第
２部分とを相互接続している。第１部分と第２部
分との各々は基部壁（base wall）及び周辺スカ
ートを含んでいる。一対のヒンジストラツプ
（hinge strap）がスカートから延在しており、且
つ一体成形ヒンジの両側において位置している。
ストラツプの端部はスカートにおける凹部中に位
置している。ストラツプの端部は角度のついた部
分によつて該凹部の基部へ接続されている。スト
ラツプは第１部分と第２部分とが開放位置にある
場合には実質的に直線状となり、第１部分と第２
部分とが閉鎖位置にある場合には湾曲している。
ストラツプは該２つの位置のどちらにおいても緊
張下にない。該一対のヒンジストラツプの半径方
向長さは円弧の長さよりも短く、該円弧を介し
て、第２のキヤツプ部分が第１部分に対する閉鎖
位置に向けて動き且つ該閉鎖位置から動き、その
結果、該一対のストラツプはスプリングとして機
能する様に伸長する。一対のストラツプの端部
は、スカートの周辺部の半径方向内側へ取り付け
られている。
これに加えて、本発明の好適な形態は、閉鎖部
材において、強固なシールをもたらすと云う特徴
と注ぎ口が清浄化されると云う特徴とを提供し、
該閉鎖部材は製品分配器（product dispenser）
において用いられる。閉鎖部材の第１部分は、該
第１部分の頂部の基部壁において、該第１部分か
ら外方に延びている軸方向の注ぎ口を備えてい
る。注ぎ口の端部は内側に面取りされている。第
２部分あるいはキヤツプは更に、スカートと一体
になつた頂部壁を有している。キヤツプの基部壁
の裏側において２つの同心的な円型壁が設けられ
ており、該２つの同心的な壁は、注ぎ口のリム端
部の壁の厚さと略々等しい量だけ間隔が空けられ
ている。該同心的な壁は、キヤツプが閉鎖された
場合に注ぎ口のリムと整合し、該リムを受け入れ
且つ該リムをシールする為に位置している。この
相互関係は、 (1) キヤツプが閉鎖された場合に注ぎ口開口の強
固なシールと、 (2) 同心的な壁の内側（の壁）を有する事により
注ぎ口を清浄し、該内側（の壁）は注ぎ口開口
中に延びており、キヤツプを閉鎖する度毎に注
ぎ口の頂部領域において製品の注ぎ口を清浄す
る事、 を提供する。
実施例 図面を参照すると、本発明を具体化する閉鎖部
材１０はポリプロピレン（polypropylene）の様
なプラスチツクで製造されており、そして該閉鎖
部材は、容器の首部に螺合される事に適合する第
１部分１１と、キヤツプを形成している第２部分
１２と、そして第１部分１１と第２部分１２とを
接続する一体成形ヒンジ１３とを含んでいる。
第１部分１１は基部壁１４と周辺スカート１５
とを備え、基部壁１４とスカート１５との接合部
における肩部１６を伴つている。チユーブ状の注
ぎ口１７が基部壁１４の外側表面から延びてお
り、そして面取りしたリム１７ａにて終端してい
る。環状ビード１８が注ぎ口１７の内側表面上に
形成されている。スカート１５はその内側表面上
にねじ山を伴つて形成されており、該ねじ山は容
器の首部上のねじ山と係合するためのものであ
る。注ぎ口１７は容器の内容物のための分配出口
（dispensing outlet）を提供し、該容器には閉鎖
部材が適用される。
第２部分あるいはギヤツプ部分１２は、基部壁
２０及び周辺スカート２１を伴つて形成されてい
る。肩部１６は、スカート２１の自由縁部によつ
て係合される事に適合している。間隔を空けた同
心的な壁２２，２３が基部壁２０の内側表面上に
設けられており、且つ注ぎ口１７上へ入れ子式に
嵌合する事に適合しており、そしてキヤツプが閉
鎖位置に動かされる場合に、リム１７ａを壁２
２，２３間に形成された環状空間中に受け入れ
る。壁２２は軸方向について壁２３よりも短く、
壁２２と注ぎ口１７との係合位置内にキヤツプ１
２が揺動する事を許容する。面取りしたリム１７
ａは内側の壁２２を注ぎ口１７の開口中に案内す
る。外側の壁２３の内径は、壁２３が注ぎ口１７
の外側表面に対して係合し且つシールする様に、
リム１７ａ近傍の注ぎ口１７の外径よりも僅かに
小さくなつている。リブ１８は最も内側の壁２２
について摩擦嵌合をもたらし、容器の内容物に対
する強固なシール、及びリム１７ａと隣接する区
域における内容物の注ぎ口を清浄化する事の双方
を保証する。更に、摩擦嵌合は、閉鎖位置におい
て第２部分をしつかりと固定する。
第１部分１１の周辺スカート１５は平らになつ
た外部表面２４を伴つて形成されており、該平ら
な表面２４は第２部分１２のスカート２１上の厚
さが大きな半径方向部分２５の裏側に位置し、そ
の結果、部分２５は、閉鎖部材１０を開放する為
に使用者の親指に係合され得る。厚さが大きな部
分２５は周囲方向に延在しており、且つスカート
１５中に融合し、その結果、キヤツプ部分１２が
飛び出したり、閉鎖された容器にキヤツプをつけ
る事（capping）或いはケースをパツクする事
（case packing）を妨げたりする可能性が少な
い。
一体成形ヒンジ１３は、安定性を提供する為、
その幅の数倍の長さを有する。ヒンジ１３は、肩
部１６の平面及びスカート２１の自由縁部におい
て該ヒンジの上方表面を有する。ヒンジ１３はス
カート２１及び１５のそれぞれの平坦な部分２１
ａ及び１５ａから延在しており、その結果、ヒン
ジ動作は略々直線となつている。ヒンジ１３の下
側は、半径方向横断面において逆Ｖ字形をしてお
り、Ｖの頂点においてヒンジラインを画定する。
１対のヒンジストラツプ２７が設けられており、
ヒンジ１３の各側において１つの該ストラツプが
設けられている。一体成形ヒンジ１３の長さは、
ストラツプ２７の各々の幅の数倍である。
各ストラツプは、部分１１上の凹部２８と部分
１２上の凹部２９との間に延在している。各スト
ラツプ２７の端部は角度のついた部分（angular
portion）２８ａ，２９ａによつて凹部２８，２
９の基部へ接続されており、該部分は第４図に見
られる様に上方へ延在していて、キヤツプが閉鎖
位置中にある場合にストラツプ２７の輪郭を小さ
くする。
ストラツプ２７の端部を凹部中に位置決めする
事により、部分１１，１２のスカートの周辺部を
越えて突出するストラツプの突出部は最小とな
り、キヤツプを付ける事及びケースをパツクする
事を容易にする。
各ストラツプ２７は、ストラツプが作動、即ち
部分１１上の部分１２を開放し且つ閉鎖する作動
において、該ストラツプが伸長する様な形状とな
つている。

第１図は本発明を具体化した閉鎖部材の平面図
である。第２図は第１図中の線２−２に沿つた断
面図である。第３図は第２図と類似する図であつ
て、閉鎖位置における閉鎖部材のキヤツプ部分を
示す。第４図は、閉鎖部材のヒンジ部分の拡大寸
法における破断図である。第５図は、閉鎖部材の
ヒンジ部分の拡大寸法における破断部分断面図で
ある。第６図は、容器上において閉鎖位置にある
閉鎖部材の破断斜視図である。第７図は、開放位

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １ スナツプタイプのヒンジキヤツプを伴つた閉
    鎖部材において、 容器の開放首部と相互係合する事に適合した第
    １部分と、 キヤツプを形成している第２部分と、そして 第１部分及び第２部分を相互係合している一体
    成形ヒンジとを含み、 第１部分と第２部分の各々は基部壁と周辺スカ
    ートとを含んでおり、 １対のヒンジストラツプがスカートから一体成
    形ヒンジの両側において延びており、 ストラツプの端部は前記スカートにおける凹部
    中に位置しており、 前記ストラツプの端部は角度のついた部分によ
    つて前記凹部の基部へ接続されており、 前記ストラツプは、前記第１部分と前記第２部
    分とが開放位置にある場合には実質的に直線状と
    なり、 前記ストラツプは、前記第１部分と前記第２部
    分とが閉鎖位置にある場合には湾曲しており、 前記ストラツプは前記２つの位置のどちらにお
    いても緊張下にない、 ことを特徴とする閉鎖部材。 ２ 第１部分及び第２部分のスカート部分であつ
    て一体成形ヒンジが取り付けられている部分は、
    周囲方向において平坦になつている特許請求の範
    囲第１項記載の閉鎖部材。 ３ 前記一体成形ヒンジは平坦な頂面と逆Ｖ字形
    の底面とを有している特許請求の範囲第１項また
    は第２項に記載の閉鎖部材。
