Claims (2)
- 燃焼室を形成する気筒と該気筒に嵌挿されたピストンと上記気筒の頭上に配置されかつ吸気ポート及び排気ポートをそれぞれ開閉する吸気弁及び排気弁とを有するエンジン本体と、該エンジン本体の吸気ポートに接続された吸気通路に設けられた過給機とを備えた過給機付2ストロークエンジンであって、
上記吸気弁の少なくとも閉弁時期を変更可能な吸気可変動弁機構と、
上記排気弁の少なくとも開弁時期を変更可能な排気可変動弁機構と、
上記エンジン本体の回転数であるエンジン回転数を検出するエンジン回転数検出手段と、
外気温を検出する外気温検出手段と、
上記エンジン本体のエンジン冷却水の温度を検出するエンジン水温検出手段と、
上記エンジン本体の運転状態が所定負荷よりも低い低負荷側運転領域にあるときにおいて、上記外気温検出手段及びエンジン回転数検出手段のそれぞれの検出結果、上記エンジン水温検出手段の検出結果、及び、上記吸気弁の現在の閉弁時期から算出される上記エンジン本体の現在の有効圧縮比に基づいて、圧縮上死点における上記燃焼室内のガス温度である圧縮端温度を推定する圧縮端温度推定手段と、
上記吸気可変動弁機構及び上記排気可変動弁機構を含めて上記エンジン本体の作動を制御する制御手段とを更に備え、
上記吸気弁及び上記排気弁の開弁期間は、圧縮下死点を挟むとともに上記吸気弁の開弁時期が上記排気弁の開弁時期よりも遅くかつ上記吸気弁の閉弁時期が上記排気弁の閉弁時期と略同じか若しくは上記排気弁の閉弁時期よりも遅くなるという特定条件を満たすように設定されており、
上記制御手段は、上記エンジン本体の運転状態が上記低負荷側運転領域にあるときには、上記燃焼室内において燃料を圧縮自着火させる圧縮自着火燃焼を実行させる一方、上記エンジン本体の運転状態が上記所定負荷以上の高負荷側運転領域にあるときには、上記燃焼室内において燃料を火花点火燃焼させるように構成され、
上記過給機は、上記エンジン本体の運転状態が上記低負荷側運転領域及び上記高負荷側運転領域にあるときに、作動するよう構成され、
更に上記制御手段は、上記エンジン本体の運転状態が上記高負荷側運転領域にあるときにおいては、上記エンジン回転数検出手段により検出されるエンジン回転数と同一のエンジン回転数で上記低負荷側運転領域にあるときに対して、上記吸気弁の少なくとも閉弁時期及び上記排気弁の少なくとも開弁時期を、上記特定条件を満たしたままで遅角させるべく、上記吸気可変動弁機構及び上記排気可変動弁機構を作動させるよう構成されており、
更に上記制御手段は、上記エンジン本体の運転状態が上記低負荷側運転領域にあるときにおいて、上記圧縮端温度推定手段により推定された圧縮端温度が燃料の自着火及び燃焼が可能な温度範囲である所定温度範囲を超えるときには、上記吸気弁の少なくとも閉弁時期を、上記特定条件満たす範囲で、現在の閉弁時期に対して遅角させる一方、上記圧縮端温度推定手段により推定された圧縮端温度が上記所定温度範囲を下回るときには、上記吸気弁の少なくとも閉弁時期を、上記特定条件満たす範囲で、現在の閉弁時期に対して進角させるべく、上記吸気可変動弁機構を作動させるよう構成されており、
上記エンジン本体の運転状態が上記高負荷側運転領域にあるときにおける上記吸気弁の閉弁時期は、該高負荷側運転領域でのエンジン回転数と同一のエンジン回転数で上記低負荷側運転領域にあるときに上記圧縮端温度に応じて上記吸気弁の閉弁時期が最大に遅角したときの該閉弁時期よりも遅角していることを特徴とする過給機付2ストロークエンジン。 - 請求項1記載の過給機付2ストロークエンジンにおいて、
上記吸気可変動弁機構は、上記吸気弁の開弁期間を一定としたまま、該吸気弁の開弁時期及び閉弁時期の両方を連動して変化させる位相式の可変動弁機構で構成され、
上記排気可変動弁機構は、上記排気弁の開弁期間を一定としたまま、該排気弁の開弁時期及び閉弁時期の両方を連動して変化させる位相式の可変動弁機構で構成されていることを特徴とする過給機付2ストロークエンジン。
