Description
図1は、PAM4の光信号を出力する本願の実施形態による光送信モジュールの例を表す。当該光送信モジュール200は、変調されていない連続光を出射する光源60と、前記連続光の経路に対して直列に配置されて、印加される電気の変調信号に応じて、光吸収量の相対的に大きな状態と光吸収量の相対的に小さな状態とを切り換えることで前記連続光を変調する第1光変調器51、第2光変調器52、及び第3光変調器53と、複数の二値電気入力信号を受け取り、前記複数の二値電気入力信号を論理演算することで新たな複数の二値電気信号を生成する論理演算回路100を有する。前記新たな二値電気信号の各々は、対応する第1光変調器51、第2光変調器52、及び第3光変調器53の各々へ前記変調信号として印加される。図1では、3つの光変調器が表されているが、4つ以上の光変調器が用いられてもよい。
図5は、本願の実施形態による他の光送信モジュールの例を表す。本実施形態に係る光送信モジュールは、光源と3つのEA変調器が一つの素子上に一体集積されたEA変調器集積DFB-LD400が用いられている。
Claims (5)
- 連続光を出射する光源と、
前記連続光の経路に対して直列に配置されて、印加される変調信号に応じて、光吸収の相対的に大きな状態と光吸収の相対的に小さな状態とを切り換えることで前記連続光を変調する複数の光変調器と、
複数の二値電気入力信号を並列に受け取り、前記複数の二値電気入力信号を論理演算することで新たな複数の二値電気信号を生成する論理演算回路、を有し、
前記新たな二値電気信号の各々は、対応する前記複数の光変調器の各々へ前記変調信号として印加される、
光送信モジュール。 - 前記新たな二値電気信号の各々は、前記論理演算回路によって対応する前記複数の光変調器の各々へ前記変調信号として印加される、請求項1に記載の光送信モジュール。
- さらに前記複数の光変調器を駆動する駆動装置を有する請求項1に記載の光送信モジュールであって、
前記新たな二値電気信号の各々は、前記駆動装置によって対応する前記複数の光変調器の各々へ前記変調信号として印加される、光送信モジュール。 - 前記論理演算回路が、グレイコードに基づいて前記複数の二値電気入力信号を論理演算する、請求項1乃至3のうちいずれか一項に記載の光送信モジュール。
- 前記光源と前記複数の光変調器が一の素子上に集積される、請求項1乃至4のうちいずれか一項に記載の光送信モジュール。
