Description
まず、図3Aに示すように、透光性基板11上に光学機能層13を予め形成したもの用意する。上述のように、光学機能層13は、誘電体多層膜を成膜したダイクロイックミラー等である。波長変換体10に青色レーザ光を入射させかつ波長変換部に黄色蛍光体を用いる場合、光学機能層13は、黄色波長領域を反射可能な層であればよい。
上述した波長変換体10を用いた照明装置30について、図6を用いて以下に説明する。なお、以下の説明においては、図中の白抜き矢印方向を前方として説明する。
以下に、図7乃至図10を用いて隣り合う波長変換部17間の光の漏出防止効果の評価実験について説明する。本実験では、波長変換層の1の表面から反対側の他方の表面まで連続して形成されている界面Iのみによって波長変換体が区画されている簡易モデルを用いて、波長変換部17の各々に個別に光を入射させた際の隣接する波長変換部17への光の漏出防止の効果を評価する。
上述の実施例においては、波長変換体10の光学機能層13を波長選択層としたが、光学機能層13を光反射層としてもよい。この場合、波長変換層15に含有される蛍光体を励起させる青色光を波長変換層15の表面15Sから入射させると、当該青色光が蛍光体を励起し、蛍光体から黄色蛍光が発せられる。この黄色蛍光が波長変換部17に入射して光反射層である光学機能層13によって反射された青色光と混ざり合うことで、表面15Sから白色光が出射する。

Claims (6)
- 1の面を有する透光性基板と、
前記透光性基板の前記1の面上に設けられた波長変換層と、
を有する波長変換体であって、
前記波長変換層は、前記波長変換層の上面から前記透光性基板に向かって延在する格子状の界面によってマトリクス状の複数の波長変換部に区画されており、
前記複数の波長変換部のうちの隣り合う波長変換部は界面を介して互いに接しており、前記界面は前記波長変換層内部で終端しており、前記複数の波長変換部の各々の間には前記終端から前記透光性基板に至る空隙が形成されており、
前記空隙は前記透光性基板に向けて広がっており、
前記透光性基板は、前記1の面に形成されて前記空隙と共に空間を形成する溝部を有していることを特徴とする波長変換体。 - 前記透光性基板と前記複数の波長変換部との間に設けられた光学機能層を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長変換体。
- 前記光学機能層は波長選択フィルターであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の波長変換体。
- 前記光学機能層は光反射層であることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の波長変換体。
- 透光性基板の一方の面に格子状の溝部を形成する工程と、
前記透光性基板の前記一方の面上に蛍光体を含有する半硬化した樹脂からなる蛍光体シートを貼付する工程と、
前記蛍光体シートを前記蛍光体シートの表面から前記格子状溝部に刃物を押し込み、前記刃物を、前記刃物を押し込んだ経路と同一の経路に沿って抜き取ることによって前記格子状溝部に沿って切断する工程と、
前記樹脂を全硬化する工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする波長変換体の製造方法。 - レーザ発光素子と、
前記レーザ発光素子の光出射方向に配され、前記レーザ発光素子からの出射光を反射する反射デバイスと、
前記反射デバイスを駆動する駆動部と、
請求項1に記載の波長変換体と、
を含む照明装置であって、
前記駆動部は、前記反射デバイスからの反射光が前記波長変換体の複数の波長変換部の各々を走査するように前記反射デバイスを駆動することを特徴とする照明装置。
