Description
Claims (4)
- タービンホイールと同タービンホイールを収容するハウジングとを含む過給機を備えた内燃機関に適用され、前記ハウジングは、前記タービンホイールの排気吐出部に連接されたタービン出口通路を形成しており、同タービン出口通路の排気出口に排気通路部が連接されている排気浄化システムにおいて、
排気を浄化するための排気浄化装置が前記タービン出口通路の排気出口近傍の前記排気通路部の部分又は前記タービン出口通路に配置されており、
前記排気浄化装置において排気の浄化に関与する排気浄化部材は、前記排気通路部又は前記タービン出口通路の中央部よりも周部においてより密となり且つ排気流動方向における前記排気浄化部材の単位体積当たりの流路抵抗が前記周部よりも前記中央部においてより小さいように前記排気浄化装置に配設されている、
排気浄化システム。 - 請求項1に記載の排気浄化システムにおいて、
前記排気通路部は、前記排気浄化装置の下流側端部の近傍部分から排気流動方向下流側に向かうにつれて当該排気通路部の通路断面積が大きくなるように外方に広がる形状を有する、排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の排気浄化システムにおいて、
前記タービンホイールの前記排気吐出部から前記排気浄化装置までの前記タービン出口通路の部分及び/又は前記排気通路の部分は、前記タービンホイールの回転軸線と同軸的に真っ直ぐに延在している、排気浄化システム。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3の何れか一項に記載の排気浄化システムにおいて、
前記排気浄化装置は、排気流動方向に延在する担持壁の互いに対向する2つの壁面であって、前記排気通路部を画成する内周壁面側の壁面と、前記排気通路部の中央部側の壁面との2つの壁面に触媒金属を担持した触媒装置であり、前記担持壁が前記排気通路部の部分又は前記タービン出口通路の周部のみに配設された中空形状を有する、排気浄化システム。
