Description
複合加工機1は、回転用工具を装着可能な第1刃物台9と、別タイプの工具を装着可能な第2刃物台10との2つの刃物台9、10を備えてなるものであって、基台としてのベッド2上には、左右方向を軸として回転する主軸3を備えた主軸台4が設置されている。また、ベッド2上面の後部にはZ軸方向に沿ってZ軸案内21が配設されているとともに、前部にもZ軸方向に沿ってZ軸案内22が配設されている。
さらに、コラム6を含む第1刃物台9の左方には、左右方向を軸として旋回可能な交換アーム11、種々の工具を収納した図示しない工具マガジン、及び交換アーム11と工具マガジンとの間で所望の工具を搬送する搬送装置12とを有する自動工具交換装置が設置されており、交換アーム11は主軸台4の上方に位置している。なお、交換アーム11は、中心から相反する放射方向へ一対のアーム部を突設してなる周知のものである。
交換具41は、交換具31同様、図6における前後方向へ延びる軸部(図示せず)の前端に、相反する放射方向へ突出する一対のグリッパ42a、42bを有してなる。そして、各グリッパ42a、42bには、軸部の方向とグリッパ42a、42bの突出方向とに直交する方向(図6(b)では上方)へ開口する爪が設けられている。そのため、交換具41により第2刃物台10の工具交換をする際には、工具用主軸8の回転によりグリッパが第2刃物台10の工具を把持/解除するのではなく、第1刃物台9の爪の開口方向への移動によりグリッパ42a、42bが第2刃物台10の工具を把持/解除することになる。また、交換具41に交換前後の両工具を把持している状態において、工具を第2刃物台10の上方で入れ替える際の動作も、工具用主軸8の回転ではなく、グリッパ42a、42bの突出方向への第1刃物台9の移動となる。つまり、交換具41を工具用主軸8に装着後、第1刃物台9をB軸周りで回転させるとともに、工具用主軸8を回転させて、交換具41をたとえば爪の開口する方向がY軸方向となるような姿勢とした上で、第2交換領域へと移動させる。そして、Y軸方向への移動(前進)により受け渡し領域にある第2刃物台10の交換前の工具を所望のグリッパ(たとえば工具を把持していないグリッパ42b)に把持させる。それから、第1刃物台9をX軸方向へ移動(上昇)させる等して交換前の工具を第2刃物台10から抜き取った後、Z軸方向へ移動(右方へ移動)させてからX軸方向へ移動(下降)させる等して、グリッパ42aが把持している新たな工具を第2刃物台10へ差し込んで装着する。その後、第1刃物台9を再びY軸方向へ移動(後退)させて第2刃物台10から退避させれば、第2刃物台10における工具の交換は完了となる。
また逆に、1つのグリッパしか有さない交換具を採用することも可能である。この場合の工具の交換手順は、第2刃物台10から工具を抜き取った後、一度自動工具交換装置まで第1刃物台9を帰らせ、自動工具交換装置との間で交換前後の工具の受け渡しを行ってから、再び第2刃物台の近傍へと復帰させて、第2刃物台10へ新たな工具を装着するといった手順となる。
Claims (1)
- 工具を着脱可能な工具用主軸を有するとともに所定方向へスライド可能な第1刃物台と、前記第1刃物台とは別個に工具を着脱可能な第2刃物台と、第1交換領域にある前記第1刃物台の工具を交換する自動工具交換装置とを備えた複合加工機であって、
前記第1刃物台を、前記第1交換領域から、前記第2刃物台の工具を交換する第2交換領域までスライド可能とするとともに、前記第2刃物台に装着する工具を把持可能なグリッパを少なくとも1つ有する交換具を、前記自動工具交換装置により前記工具用主軸へ装着可能としており、
前記第2交換領域において、前記交換具が前記工具用主軸へ装着された前記第1刃物台をスライドさせる及び/又は前記工具用主軸を回転させることにより、前記第2刃物台の工具を着脱して交換することを特徴とする複合加工機。
