Description
The present invention relates to a casting method in which casting is performed by pouring molten metal into a metal mold in which a cooling passage is formed.
Conventionally, an aluminum cylinder head is cast by applying pressure to the surface of a molten metal stored in a heating and holding furnace and pouring the molten metal into a mold provided above the heating and holding furnace via stalk or the like. Low pressure casting methods are well known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). And this
Moreover, it is known that when cooling water leaks in the manufacturing process of an aluminum product using a die casting mold, the subsequent manufacturing process is adversely affected by the contact between aluminum and water (see Patent Document 2).
In
The present invention has been made in consideration of such problems, and whether or not the size of cracks generated in the cooling passage formed in the mold by a simple method exceeds an allowable reference value. It is an object of the present invention to provide a casting method capable of reliably preventing the refrigerant from leaking from the crack by detecting the above.
[1] A casting method according to the present invention includes an introduction step of introducing a compressed fluid into a cooling passage formed inside a metal mold, and an introduction of the compressed fluid into the cooling passage after the introduction step. And a shut-off step that shuts off the discharge of the compressed fluid from the cooling passage, an acquisition step that is performed after the shut-off step, acquires the pressure of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage, and a pressure that is acquired in the acquisition step And determining whether or not the size of the crack generated in the cooling passage exceeds an allowable reference value, and in the determining step, the size of the crack is within the allowable reference value When it is determined that the coolant is circulated through the cooling passage, a pouring step of pouring molten metal into the mold is performed.
According to such a method, in the shut-off process, after the compressed fluid is introduced into the cooling passage, the introduction of the compressed fluid into the cooling passage and the discharge of the compressed fluid from the cooling passage are shut off. If a crack that reaches the surface of the mold has occurred in the passage, the compressed fluid leaks from the crack, and the pressure of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage decreases. That is, the size of the crack can be known based on the pressure of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage.
In the determination step, since it is determined whether or not the size of the crack is within the allowable reference value based on the pressure of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage acquired in the acquisition step, the determination result is affirmative determination (The crack size is within the allowable reference value), the coolant was circulated through the cooling passage and the molten metal was poured into the mold, and the determination result was a negative determination (crack size). For example, it is possible to take measures to prevent refrigerant leakage from the cooling passage. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the refrigerant from leaking from the cooling passage by a simple method. Therefore, when aluminum is used for the molten metal, unexpected contact between aluminum and water can be reliably avoided.
[2] In the present invention, a calculation step of calculating a pressure decrease rate in the cooling passage is further performed based on the pressure acquired in the acquisition step, and the determination step includes the pressure decrease calculated in the calculation step. When the rate is smaller than a preset threshold value, it is determined that the crack size is equal to or less than an allowable reference value, and when the pressure drop rate is equal to or greater than the threshold value, the crack size is equal to the allowable reference value. It is characterized by determining that it has exceeded.
As the size of the crack increases, the amount of compressed fluid leaked per predetermined time increases, and the pressure drop rate of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage tends to increase. Therefore, it is possible to suitably determine whether or not the size of the crack exceeds the allowable reference value using the pressure drop rate.
[3] In the present invention, the introduction step, the blocking step, and the determination step are performed every time the pouring step is performed. Thereby, for example, even if the size of the crack in the cooling passage exceeds the allowable reference value in the current pouring process, it is detected before the next pouring process and the pouring process is performed. Since it can be made not to perform, it can prevent more reliably that a refrigerant | coolant leaks from the crack which has generate | occur | produced in the cooling channel.
[4] In the present invention, an insert is provided in the mold, and the cooling passage is formed inside the insert. Thereby, it can prevent suitably also with respect to the leakage of the refrigerant | coolant from the crack which generate | occur | produces in the site | part located inside a nest | insert in a cooling passage.
[5] In the present invention, the viscosity of the compressed fluid is set to be equal to or lower than the viscosity of the refrigerant used in the pouring step. As a result, the pressure change rate of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage can be increased compared with the case where the viscosity of the compressed fluid is larger than the viscosity of the refrigerant. Can be done.
As described above, according to the present invention, in the determination step, it is determined whether the size of the crack exceeds the allowable reference value based on the pressure of the compressed fluid in the cooling passage acquired in the acquisition step. Therefore, when the determination result is affirmative determination, the coolant is circulated through the cooling passage and the molten metal is poured into the mold. When the determination result is negative determination, for example, from the cooling passage It is possible to take measures to prevent leakage of the refrigerant. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the refrigerant from leaking from the cooling passage by a simple method.
Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the casting method in relation to a casting apparatus for carrying out the casting method will be exemplified and described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 2, the
As shown in FIG. 3, each
As shown in FIGS. 1, 3, and 4, the lower surface of the
The
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
The
As shown in FIG. 3, a compressed

The cooling
The flow path switching
The
Here, the crack Cr having an allowable reference value means a crack Cr having a risk of leakage from the crack Cr when cooling water is introduced into the
Note that the size of the crack Cr can be determined by the area of the portion (crack opening) opened in the
The
Next, a casting method using the above-described
First, the cooling
Subsequently, the first on-off
Thereafter, the compressed
Then, when the pressure of the compressed air in the
At this time, the
Subsequently, the
In this case, the
On the other hand, when the pressure drop rate ΔP1 is smaller than the set pressure drop rate ΔP0 (ΔP1 <ΔP0), the
And the flow-path switching
Subsequently, the cooling
Next, the
On the other hand, when casting is not continued (step S16: No), the procedure of the present casting method ends at this stage.
Next, the pressure drop rate of the compressed air in the
As understood from FIG. 7, in line segment A to line segment D, the gauge pressure in the
The pressure decrease rate is calculated after the gauge pressure in the
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various casting methods can naturally be employed without departing from the gist of the present invention.
In the above embodiment, it is determined whether or not the size of the crack Cr exceeds the allowable reference value based on the pressure drop rate. For example, in the state where the compressed air is introduced into the
The compressed fluid introduced into the
Note that the viscosity of the compressed fluid may be set smaller than the viscosity of the cooling water used during casting. As a result, the rate of change of the gauge pressure in the cooling passage can be increased compared with the case where the viscosity of the compressed fluid is larger than the viscosity of the cooling water. Can be done.
