前記光学部材は、円柱状であり、前記発光素子を覆うように、前記発光素子に当接して設けられ、前記発光素子から出射された光を複数の方向に屈折させ、
前記光量調整部材は、前記光学部材の側面において、前記第1反射部材の辺部に臨む領域のみに設けられていることを特徴とする発光装置である。
前記発光部の周囲の位置において、前記発光部の光軸方向において前記発光部よりも前記被照射体から遠い位置に設けられる基部であって、前記光軸に垂直な方向に平面状に延びる基部と、

また、発光部と反射部材の辺部との間には光量調整部材が配置され、この光量調整部材は、光学部材の側面において、第1反射部材の辺部に臨む領域のみに設けられているので、面方向において強度が均一化された光を、表示パネルに照射することができるとともに、発光装置の薄型化を図ることができる。

前記発光装置は、被照射体に光を照射する発光部であって、被照射体に対向して設けられる光学部材を含む発光部と、
前記発光部の周囲に設けられる反射部材であって、前記被照射体側から平面視したときの外形状が多角形状である第1反射部材と、この第1反射部材の角部に傾斜した第2反射部材とを含む反射部材と、
前記発光部からの、前記第1反射部材に入射する光の量を調整する光量調整部材であって、前記発光部と前記第1反射部材の辺部との間に配置される光量調整部材と、を備え、
前記発光部は、
発光素子と、
前記発光素子を支持する基台とを含み、
