Description
この発明は以上の点に鑑みなされたもので、その目的は、耐応力性能の優れた液晶表示装置を提供することにある。
図1に示すように、液晶表示装置は、バックライトユニット1と、液晶表示パネル2と、ケース3と、入力装置としてのタッチパネル4と、を有している。
光源15は導光板11の側縁に対向配置されている。反射板16は、光放出面S1と対向した領域が開口し、導光板11および光源15を覆っている。
アレイ基板20は、ガラス基板21と、このガラス基板上に形成された複数の画素電極22と、各画素電極を含みガラス基板上に成膜された配向膜23と、を有している。また、アレイ基板20は、ガラス基板21上に形成された図示しない各種配線やスイッチング素子としての薄膜トランジスタ等を有している。
ここで、上記突出部17cは、タッチパネル4と対向した個所のケース3、すなわち、上壁3aと対向し、接触している。このため、突出部17cは、上壁3aを支持しているとともにこの上壁を介してタッチパネル4を支持している。
Claims (2)
- 光放出面を含む導光板と、前記導光板の側縁に対向配置された光源と、前記導光板および光源を覆うと共に前記光放出面と対向した領域が開口した矩形状のバックカバーと、前記光放出面の周縁部を覆い、前記導光板の側縁と対向するとともに前記バックカバーの周壁を覆い、前記バックカバーに嵌合される枠状のフロントカバーと、を有したバックライトユニットと、
前記光放出面と対向して設けられたアレイ基板と、前記アレイ基板に隙間を置いて対向配置された対向基板と、前記アレイ基板および対向基板間に挟持された液晶層と、を有した液晶表示パネルと、
前記液晶表示パネルと対向する上壁を有するとともに前記対向基板の周縁部およびバックカバーの周壁を覆った枠状のケースと、
を備え、
前記バックカバーは、前記光放出面を超えて突出するとともに前記液晶表示パネルの側縁と対向し、各辺に2つ以上設けられ、前記フロントカバーに設けられた複数の開口部をそれぞれ貫通して延び、前記ケースの上壁と対向し接触して前記上壁を支持する複数の突出部を有する液晶表示装置。 - 前記対向基板と対向するとともに前記ケース上に設けられ、入力面を有した入力装置をさらに備え、
前記複数の突出部は、前記入力装置と対向した個所の前記ケース内面と対向し、前記ケースを介して前記入力装置を支持する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
