ディスプレイと、
前記ポインティングデバイスが露出させた状態で、
前記一面領域でキーボードの全体が覆われた第1位置と、前記一面領域で前記キーボードの一部が覆われて前記一面領域と前記他の一面領域とに重なる面積が前記第1位置より小さい第2位置と、の間で水平回転可能に前記ディスプレイの背面と前記他の一面領域とを結合するとともに、
前記第2位置と、前記他の一面領域のみに重なり前記一面領域で前記キーボードの全体が露出される第3位置と、の間でスライド可能に前記ディスプレイの背面と前記他の一面領域とを結合した結合部材と、
を備え、
前記第1本体に対して前記第2本体は、前記他の一面領域を前記一面領域の延長上に配置した延長位置と、前記他の一面領域を前記一面領域に対して接近させるよう交差させた交差位置と、の間で回動可能に結合され、
前記延長位置で前記第2本体が、前記結合部材による前記水平回転を可能にし、
前記ディスプレイの前記第2位置から上記第3位置へのスライドが、前記第2本体の前記延長位置と前記交差位置との間の回動を可能にする、
ことを特徴とする。
図1を参照すると、「タブレット(TABLET)」位置に配置される電子機器100の例示的な実施の形態の側面図が示されている。ここでは、電子機器100は、結合部材(図示せず)を介して本体120に回転自在に取り付けられるディスプレイ110を備えている。ここでは、電子機器100は、第1の(ポートレイト)位置に配置されているディスプレイ110を伴なったタブレットコンピュータとして機能する。
図11〜図16は、タブレットPCとしての使用からポータブルコンピュータへと変化される電子機器100の実施の形態を示している。これは、以下に記述されるように、ディスプレイ110の回転および変位によって達成される。
図17を参照すると、電子機器100のフラットパネルディスプレイ112の一部分、あるいは、全体に配置されるカバー600の実施の形態が示されている。一般に、このカバー600は、力が材料に加えられるとき、電子機器100が、そのような力が加えられるフラットパネルディスプレイ112上の領域を検出することが可能である材料で作られている。例えば、カバー600は、アクリル樹脂で作られることができる。
Claims (2)
- キーボード及びポインティングデバイスが設けられている一面領域を有した第1本体と、上記一面領域に連続する他の一面領域を有した第2本体とを有する本体と、
ディスプレイと、
前記ポインティングデバイスが露出させた状態で、
前記一面領域でキーボードの全体が覆われた第1位置と、前記一面領域で前記キーボードの一部が覆われて前記一面領域と前記他の一面領域とに重なる面積が前記第1位置より小さい第2位置と、の間で水平回転可能に前記ディスプレイの背面と前記他の一面領域とを結合するとともに、
前記第2位置と、前記他の一面領域のみに重なり前記一面領域で前記キーボードの全体 が露出される第3位置と、の間でスライド可能に前記ディスプレイの背面と前記他の一面領域とを結合した結合部材と、
を備え、
前記第1本体に対して前記第2本体は、前記他の一面領域を前記一面領域の延長上に配置した延長位置と、前記他の一面領域を前記一面領域に対して接近させるよう交差させた交差位置と、の間で回動可能に結合され、
前記延長位置で前記第2本体が、前記結合部材による前記水平回転を可能にし、
前記ディスプレイの前記第2位置から上記第3位置へのスライドが、前記第2本体の前記延長位置と前記交差位置との間の回動を可能にする、
ことを特徴とする電子機器。 - 前記本体は、前記第1本体及び前記第2本体が並んでいる方向に細長く、前記第2本体の前記一面領域において前記ディスプレイがスライドする方向は前記本体の長手方向である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電子機器。
