Description
図1に示すように、メカスキャン方式のレーダは、サーボモータ等で送受信アンテナ11を軸O周りに揺動させることによって、送受信アンテナ11からの主ビームAによる水平面内走査を実現する。このようなメカスキャン方式レーダにおいて、送受信アンテナ11からの主ビームAによる走査範囲θを広げるには、送受信アンテナ11の回転角度φの範囲を広げる必要がある。そのためには、送受信アンテナ11の揺動を妨げないように、送受信アンテナ11を収納したケーシング10の奥行きをより深くする必要がある。例えば、図2に示すように、送受信アンテナ11からの主ビームAによる走査範囲θを、水平方向のビーム幅程度の角度θ1から、それよりもさらに広い角度θ2に変更する場合には、ハウジングの奥行き寸法Dを、少なくとも、送受信アンテナ11の厚さ程度の値D1より大きな値D2に変更する必要がある。このため、レーダ自体のサイズが大きくなる。
図3に示すように、ビーム切替え方式のレーダは、互いに方向が異なるビームA1,A2,...,Anを送信する、アンテナ30上の送受信器31S1,31S2,...,31Snを順次切り替えることによって、アンテナ30からの主ビームによる水平面内走査を実現する。このようなビーム切替え方式レーダにおいて、アンテナ30からの主ビームによる走査範囲θを広げるには、アンテナ30上の送受信器31S1,31S2,...,31Snの数をさらに増やす必要がある。そのためには、アンテナ30の水平方向幅を広くすることによって、増設分の受信器の配置スペースを確保する必要がある。例えば、図4に示すように、アンテナ30からの主ビームによる走査範囲θを、現在の角度θ3から、それよりもさらに広い角度θ4に変更する場合には、アンテナ30の幅寸法Wを、現在の値W3から、それよりもさらに大きな値W4に変更する必要がある。このため、レーダ自体のサイズが大きくなる。
モノパルス方式のレーダは、左右に並べた2つのアンテナで、ターゲットからのエコーをそれぞれ受信し、それら2つのアンテナによる受信波の位相差に基づいて、ターゲットの方位角を検出する。
移動体に取り付けられ、当該移動体の移動方向に存在するターゲットを検出するレーダ装置であって、
前記移動体と前記ターゲットとの間に定めた最接近距離に応じた距離だけ前記移動体の移動方向へ離れた位置において、前記移動体の幅に相当する幅の電界を形成する前記電波を送信する送信アンテナと、
互いに異なる位置で、前記反射電波を受信する2つの受信アンテナと、
を備えることを特徴とするレーダ装置が提供される。
まず、本実施の形態に係る、モノパルス方式レーダの構成について説明する。なお、ここでは、ホモダイン方式の2周波CWレーダの構成を一例として挙げることとするが、このことは、ヘテロダイン方式の2周波CWレーダへの本発明の適用を妨げるものではない。

このように、3つのアンテナ513,521a1,521a2の配列の全長Wは、送信アンテナ513からの電波B0のビーム幅θと反比例する。このため、送信アンテナ513からの電波B0のビーム幅θを広くするほど、3つのアンテナ513,521a1,521a2の配列の全長Wが短くなり、レーダ装置全体のサイズをコンパクトにすることができる。前述したように、本実施の形態においては、送信アンテナ513からの電波B0のビーム幅θが、低速走行中の最短車間距離に位置するライン寄り車両が検出可能な程度まで広くしてあるため、コンパクトなレーダ装置を実現することができる。すなわち、本実施の形態によれば、高速走行中および低速走行中のいずれの走行状況にも対応可能なレーダ装置を、収納性のよいコンパクトなものとして実現することができる。
Claims (1)
- 車両の走行を支援するシステムであって、
前記車両からターゲットまでの距離を検出するレーダ装置と、
走行状態における前記車両の上下方向に回転可能に、前記レーダ装置を保持する回転軸と、
前記レーダ装置を上下方向に回転させるモータと、
前記レーダ装置が検出した前記ターゲットとの前記距離が狭まるにしたがって、前記レーダ装置の仰角が0度から所定角度まで徐々に増加するように、及び、前記ターゲットとの前記距離が広がるにしたがって、前記レーダ装置の仰角が所定角度から0度まで徐々に減少するように、前記モータの回転角を制御する制御装置と、
を備えることを特徴とするシステム。
