TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a film scanner for reading an image photographed on a silver halide film by a photoelectric conversion element and converting the image into an image signal.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art With the spread of personal computers (PCs) in recent years, images taken by a digital still camera and images scanned by a scanner device are taken into a PC and subjected to image processing or recording. In response to the demands of such an era, it has been considered that an image photographed by a photographic film such as a silver halide film is taken into a personal computer. Conventionally, a photographed image printed is read by a scanner device. However, in this type of scanner, it is necessary to read after printing on a print, and a film scanner for directly reading a negative image or a positive image on a photographic film has been proposed. Such a film scanner is basically the same as a conventional scanner device, in which a film image is main-scanned by a line sensor including a photoelectric conversion element such as a CCD element, and the film or the line sensor is moved in the main scanning direction. The configuration is such that sub-scanning is performed by moving in the orthogonal sub-scanning direction.
[0003]
By the way, some film scanners of this type are provided with a pre-scan function for confirming a film image to be read together with a main scan for reading a film image properly. This pre-scan is used to confirm that the target film image is read in the correct state. There is no need to perform high-density reading as in the main scan, while shortening the reading time. It is preferable to preview the read image faster. In this method, the sub-scan is set at every several pitches of the main scan, and the pixels of the main scan at that time are thinned out at every pitch of the sub-scan. I have. This is because the speed in the main scanning direction of the scanner is determined uniquely by the line sensor reading time, for example, in the case of a CCD element, the charge accumulation time is determined by the line sensor. It is difficult to make it rough, so that the reading density in the sub-scanning direction is made rough. For example, in the related art, the sub-scan during pre-scan is set at intervals of several pitches with respect to the sub-scan during main scan, thereby reducing the number of sub-scans during pre-scan with respect to the number of scans during main scan. Has been done.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in such a film scanner, at the time of pre-scanning, for example, the speed at which the film moves in the sub-scanning direction with respect to the line sensor is the same as the moving speed at the time of main scanning, and the reading timing at the time of sub-scanning is thinned out. When reading the same film image, the time required to move the film in the sub-scanning direction with respect to the line sensor is different between the pre-scan and the main scan. Will be the same. Therefore, there is a problem that it is difficult to achieve the original purpose of speeding up the prescan.
[0005]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a film scanner capable of shortening a pre-scan time.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention is an imaging device that reads the image by main scanning the film in which the image is visualized, and a scanning mechanism that moves the film with respect to the imaging device in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction. A scanning mechanism comprising: a film holder that supports the film; a moving table that supports the film holder; and a first scan that moves the moving table at a first speed in the sub-scanning direction. Means, and second scanning means for moving the film holder at a second speed with respect to the moving table in the sub-scanning direction. The first scanning unit is driven during the main scan, and the first and second scanning units are simultaneously driven during the pre-scan.In this case, the first speed by the first scanning unit and the second speed by the second scanning unit are configured to be equal.
[0007]
According to the present invention, by setting the sub-scanning speed of the second scanning unit to be higher than the sub-scanning speed of the first scanning unit, the sub-scanning speed of the pre-scan is higher than the sub-scanning speed of the main scan. And the time for prescan can be shortened. Further, at the time of pre-scanning, the first scanning means and the second scanning means are simultaneously driven to perform sub-scanning, so that the time of pre-scanning can be reduced.

In this scanning flow, when an instruction to perform a main scan is issued, it is determined in advance whether or not a pre-scan has been performed. If not, a pre-scan is performed to determine a CCD accumulation time, and then the main scan is performed. The difference from the first embodiment is that a step of performing a scan is provided. Note that the flow of steps S131 to S143 relating to the prescan is the same as in the first embodiment, and thus the same reference numerals are given and the description is omitted. In the second embodiment, when the main scan is determined in step S135, it is determined in advance whether a pre-scan has been performed (S230).
