Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vapor deposition mask material, a method for fixing a vapor deposition mask material, and a method for manufacturing an organic semiconductor element.
Conventionally, in the manufacture of an organic EL element, the organic layer or cathode electrode of the organic EL element is formed of, for example, a metal in which a large number of minute slits are arranged in parallel at minute intervals in a region to be deposited. A vapor deposition mask was used. When using this vapor deposition mask, the vapor deposition mask is placed on the surface of the substrate to be vapor-deposited and held by a magnet from the back side, but the rigidity of the slit is extremely small, so when holding the vapor deposition mask on the substrate surface In this case, the slits are easily distorted, which has been an obstacle to increasing the definition of the products with high definition or increasing the slit length.
Various studies have been made on the vapor deposition mask for preventing the distortion of the slit. For example,
Recently, with the increase in size of products using organic EL elements or the increase in substrate size, there is an increasing demand for deposition masks, which are used in the manufacture of deposition masks made of metal. Metal plates are also getting bigger. However, with the current metal processing technology, it is difficult to accurately form a fine pattern on a large metal plate, and it is possible to prevent distortion of the slit portion by the method proposed in
When forming a vapor deposition pattern on a vapor deposition object using a vapor deposition mask, the vapor deposition mask is generally used in a state of being fixed to a metal frame. As means for fixing the vapor deposition mask to the metal frame, fixing methods using various known welding methods such as laser welding, arc welding, electric resistance welding, and electron beam welding are generally used. Here, when the fixing strength between the metal frame fixed by various welding methods and the vapor deposition mask is low, vapor deposition is performed on the workpiece using the metal frame integrated vapor deposition mask in which the vapor deposition mask is fixed to the metal frame. When forming a pattern, there are a case where the vapor deposition mask floats from the metal frame and a case where the vapor deposition mask turns over from the metal frame. Floating and turning the deposition mask from the metal frame will not only interfere with the repeated use of the deposition mask integrated with the metal frame, but also the deposition pattern on the workpiece using the deposition mask integrated with the metal frame. Causes problems such as reduced accuracy. From this point of view, it is considered extremely important to increase the fixing strength between the metal frame and the vapor deposition mask.
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and is a vapor deposition mask material that can satisfy both high definition and light weight even when the size is increased, and can be firmly fixed to a metal frame.
<< Vapor deposition mask material >>
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the vapor
Moreover, the resin material which comprises a resin layer has a property which can process highly finely compared with a metal material. Therefore, according to the vapor

The thickness of the metal frame is usually very thick compared to the thickness of the vapor
Here, the vapor
Regarding the effects based on the above characteristics of the vapor
For example, when the
Further, in the above “comparative configuration”, the metal frame and the
In addition, since the
The vapor

Hereinafter, embodiments of the vapor
(First embodiment)
The vapor

The vapor
There is no particular limitation on the position where the
The shape of the

Moreover, when performing vapor deposition on a workpiece using the vapor
The thickness of the
The shadow referred to in the specification of the present application is insufficient for the pattern formed on the deposition object when the deposition pattern is formed on the deposition object using the deposition mask obtained by the production method of the present invention. This refers to a phenomenon in which a vapor deposition portion, that is, a vapor deposition portion having a film thickness thinner than a target vapor deposition film thickness occurs. Hereinafter, the relationship between the occurrence of shadows and the thickness of the
In order to sufficiently prevent the generation of shadows, it is preferable that the cross-sectional shape of the
Although there is no particular limitation on the method of forming the
(Resin layer)
The
The thickness of the
Moreover, in the vapor
The depth and width of the groove are not particularly limited. However, if the depth of the groove is too deep or too wide, the rigidity of the
As described above, the example of the
There is no particular limitation on the shape and size of the
The cross-sectional shape of the
The method for forming the
In forming the
Further, the laser irradiation is preferably performed from the side of the
Moreover, in the vapor

As shown in FIG. 8, the fixing method of the present invention is a fixing method in which a metal frame and a vapor deposition mask material are welded at a predetermined location, and the vapor deposition mask material is fixed to the metal frame. A preparation step (S1) for preparing a vapor deposition mask material in which a mask and a resin layer are laminated, and the vapor deposition mask material and the metal frame are overlapped so that the metal mask of the vapor deposition mask material and the metal frame face each other. And a welding step (S2) in which a metal frame and a metal plate of the vapor deposition mask material are welded at a predetermined location by performing welding from the resin layer side of the vapor deposition mask material, and further the vapor deposition mask at the time of the welding step The material is an evaporation mask material in which a resin layer does not exist on the surface of the metal mask corresponding to a predetermined location. Hereinafter, each step will be specifically described.
(Preparation process)
The preparation step (S1) is a step of preparing an evaporation mask material in which a metal mask provided with a slit and a resin layer are laminated.
As the vapor deposition mask material prepared in this step, the vapor
(Resin layer removal process)
This step is a step of removing the resin layer corresponding to the welding location when the vapor deposition mask material prepared in the preparation step has a resin layer on the surface of the metal mask corresponding to the welding location. . Therefore, when the vapor deposition mask material prepared in the preparation step is the vapor
There is no particular limitation on the method for removing the resin layer corresponding to the welded portion, and the resin layer can be removed using a laser processing method, an etching processing method, or the like.
(Welding process)
In the welding step (S2), as shown in FIG. 9, the vapor
In this step, since welding is performed on a region where the
The
The thickness of the metal frame is not particularly limited, but is preferably about 3 mm to 30 mm from the viewpoint of rigidity and the like. The width between the inner peripheral end face of the opening of the metal frame and the outer peripheral end face of the metal frame is not particularly limited as long as the metal frame and the
The width between the inner peripheral surfaces of the opening of the metal frame and the width between the outer peripheral end surfaces of the metal frame are not particularly limited, but the width between the inner peripheral surfaces of the opening in the metal frame is the metal mask of the vapor deposition mask material. The width is smaller than the width in the horizontal direction. Similarly, the width between the vertical directions of the inner peripheral surfaces of the openings in the metal frame is smaller than the vertical width of the metal mask of the vapor deposition mask material. There is no particular limitation on the width between the lateral end faces of the metal frame.
There is also no particular limitation on the welding method performed in this step, and conventionally known welding such as laser welding, electron beam welding, electric resistance welding such as seam welding, arc welding such as MIG, TIG, and MAG. The method can be appropriately selected and used. Hereinafter, the case where the laser welding method is used will be described as an example.
The laser device for irradiating laser light is not particularly limited, and a conventionally known laser device can be used. The irradiation condition of the laser light is not particularly limited, and can be appropriately selected according to the material of the
In the fixing method of the present invention, a metal frame-integrated vapor deposition mask material in which the vapor
The
Although the use of the vapor deposition mask material described above is not limited, it is a field that requires the formation of a high-definition vapor deposition film, for example, the organic layer of an organic EL element, the formation of a cathode electrode, the formation of an organic semiconductor, etc. It is suitable as a vapor deposition mask material used for
