Claims (3)
- 映像データ信号に基づく画像を表示デバイスに表示させる表示デバイスの駆動装置であって、
前記映像データ信号に基づき各画素の輝度レベルに対応した画素データの系列からなる画素データ系列信号を生成する駆動制御部と、
前記画素データ系列信号を取り込み、前記画素データによって示される輝度レベルに対応した画素駆動電圧を前記表示デバイスの複数のデータラインに印加するデータドライバと、を含み、
前記駆動制御部は、前記映像データ信号の提供元のアプリケーションソフトウェアが静止画の画像提供ソフトウェアであるのか、或いは動画領域を含む画像提供ソフトウェアであるのかを判別する判別部を含み、前記判別部の判別結果に基づき、前記データドライバへの電源供給を停止する第1の省電力モードと、互いに隣接する水平走査ラインに夫々対応した1水平走査ライン分の前記映像データ信号同士が一致しているときに前記データドライバによる前記画素データ系列信号の取り込み動作を停止させる第2の省電力モードと、の内の一方を実行することを特徴とする表示デバイスの駆動装置。 - 前記駆動制御部は、前記判別結果が静止画の画像提供ソフトウェアを示す場合には前記第1の省電力モードを実行する一方、前記判別結果が動画領域を含む画像提供ソフトウェアを示す場合には前記第2の省電力モードを実行することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示デバイスの駆動装置。
- 前記データドライバは、前記表示デバイスの画面内の第1領域の画像表示を担う第1のデータドライバ、及び前記画面内において前記第1領域とは異なる第2領域の画像表示を担う第2のデータドライバに分割して構成されており、
前記駆動制御部は、前記アプリケーションソフトウェアが前記第1領域では動画像を表示させ且つ前記第2領域では静止画像を表示させるものである場合には、前記第1のデータドライバに対しては前記第2の省電力モードを実行し、前記第2のデータドライバに対しては前記第1の省電力モードを実行することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示デバイスの駆動装置。
