Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a flexible board editing apparatus and a flexible board editing method. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for automatically editing a flexible substrate that does not include a defective circuit by removing the defective circuit from a long strip-shaped flexible substrate having a plurality of circuits formed in the longitudinal direction.
A flexible substrate serving as a base material for a chip mounting substrate is manufactured through the following steps, for example. That is, a step of forming a conductive metal layer on the surface of an insulating film on which a plurality of device holes for mounting electronic components are formed, and a layer made of a photosensitive resin (photoresist) on the surface of the conductive metal layer Forming a desired pattern by exposing and developing the photoresist layer using a mask pattern, selectively etching the conductive metal layer using the pattern formed by the photoresist as a masking material And a process of forming a wiring pattern made of a conductive metal. After mounting an electronic component (chip) on the flexible substrate manufactured as described above, a chip mounting substrate is manufactured by cutting in units of mounted chips.
In each of the above processes, a roll-to-roll system is generally introduced in many cases. In the roll-to-roll method, a long insulating film wound around a roll is unwound from the unwinding portion, and after a predetermined treatment is performed, the film is wound on the winding portion. According to the roll-to-roll method, the processing target can be continuously supplied, so that the production efficiency of the flexible substrate can be improved and the production cost can be reduced. Of the above processes, it is ideal that the roll body wound in the process immediately before the chip mounting process does not include a defective circuit. For this reason, it is preferable to edit a flexible substrate having no defective circuit and then wind it on a roll.
As a technique for performing the above editing, for example, it is conceivable to use the techniques of
In Patent Document 1, a sheet-like defect detecting device, a sheet-like material cutting device, and a sheet-like material laminating device are installed between a pair of rollers provided with forward and reverse rotation means capable of winding and unwinding. An apparatus for removing defects in a sheet-like material is disclosed.
By applying the technique of Patent Document 1 to a flexible substrate for mounting electronic components, it is conceivable that a roll does not include a defective circuit. In Patent Document 1, although there is a description that the

The method invention according to the present invention removes a defective circuit (94) from a long strip-shaped flexible substrate (W) in which a plurality of circuits (92) are formed in a longitudinal direction, thereby forming a flexible substrate that does not include a defective circuit (94). A flexible board editing method for automatically editing, wherein the lines (J1, J2) near both ends of the defective circuit (94) in the flexible board (W) are cut to make the flexible board (W) the first board (W1) and the second board. In a state where the adhesive (G) is applied to at least one end region (W22) of the first substrate (W1) and the second substrate (W2), the step (S30) of dividing into the substrate (W2). The first substrate (W1) and the second substrate (W2) so that the end region (W12) of the first substrate (W1) and the end region (W22) of the second substrate (W2) overlap and overlap each other. Arranging (S60) and It characterized in that it comprises a step (S70) crimping the overlapping end regions (W12) and the end region (W22) and to each other.
According to the present invention, the editing can be performed as follows. First, the both ends neighboring lines (J1, J2) of the defective circuit (94) in the flexible substrate (W) are cut by the cutter (511). Both-end neighboring lines (J1, J2) are virtual lines formed on both sides in the longitudinal direction of the flexible substrate (W) in the defective circuit (94). The two lines (J1, J2) have a longitudinal width that can sandwich the defective circuit (94) therebetween. Both-end neighboring lines (J1, J2) are cut ends (W11, W21) after cutting, respectively.
By the above cut, the flexible substrate (W) is divided into a first substrate (W1) and a second substrate (W2). Next, the first substrate (W1) and the second substrate (W2) with the adhesive (G) applied to at least one end region (W22) of the first substrate (W1) and the second substrate (W2). ) Are arranged as follows by the substrate arrangement portions (3a, 3b). That is, the end region (W12) of the first substrate (W1) and the end region (W22) of the second substrate (W2) are arranged so as to overlap each other. Next, the end region (W12) and the end region (W22) that overlap each other are pressure-bonded by the pressurizing unit (7). Thereby, the 1st board | substrate (W1) and the 2nd board | substrate (W2) which were made by parting are joined.
The present invention is superior to the prior art in the following points. That is, the defective circuit (94) is removed by cutting the adjacent lines (J1, J2) at both ends. The first substrate (W1) and the second substrate (W2) divided as a result of the cut are not the adhesive tape, but the end region (W12) of the first substrate (W1) and the end of the second substrate (W2). It joins with a part area | region (W22) via an adhesive agent (G). Accordingly, a wide bonding area as in the case of an adhesive tape is not required, and the portion that does not function as a mounting substrate can be minimized. Further, the substrate placement portions (3a, 3b) can be bonded with high accuracy by overlapping the first substrate (W1) and the second substrate (W2) while positioning them. By performing the above processing for all the defective circuit (94) formation locations, it is finally possible to automatically edit a flexible substrate that does not include any defective circuit (94).
Here, the end region (W12) of the first substrate (W1) is in the range of 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm from the cut end (W11) of the first substrate (W1), and the second substrate ( The end region (W22) of W2) is preferably in the range of 0.5 mm or more and 1.5 mm or less from the cut end (W21) of the second substrate (W2).
In addition, the adhesive (G) is a thermosetting agent, and it is preferable that the pressure part (7) is thermocompression-bonded to the end region (W12) and the end region (W22) that overlap each other. Since bonding is performed by thermocompression bonding, sufficient strength can be obtained even in a small bonding area. Therefore, the circuits at both ends of the junction can be used.
Further, it is preferable that the substrate placement unit (3a, 3b) performs the substrate placement by driving in each direction of XYZθ while holding the surface of the first substrate (W1) or the second substrate (W2) by vacuum suction. .
Moreover, it is preferable that conveyance of a flexible substrate (W) is performed by roll to roll.
Moreover, you may provide the adhesive application part (6) which apply | coats an adhesive agent (G) to at least one edge part area | region (W22) of a 1st board | substrate (W1) and a 2nd board | substrate (W2). Furthermore, it is preferable that the cutter (511) is configured such that the length in the direction perpendicular to the blade width can be selected according to the size of the circuit (92) in the flexible substrate (W).

As a premise, the
As shown in FIG. 7, the
[Defect circuit cut (S10 to S30)]
Based on a command from the
The
[Downstream substrate transport by downstream feeder (S40)]
The
The central table 22 and the downstream table 23 are in a non-adsorption state (see FIG. 9B). The
The
[Application of adhesive (S50)]
The
[Upstream substrate transport by upstream feeder (S60)]
The upstream table 21 is in a non-adsorption state (see FIG. 11A). The
The
The
[Thermo-compression bonding (S70)]
The pressurizing
[Winding of bonded substrate (S80)]
All the
