Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition and a film using the same. In particular, the present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition excellent in adhesion to a urethane-based adhesive, excellent in calendar processability and extrusion processability, and a film using the same.
Conventionally, vinyl chloride resin films have been widely used for decorative sheets used as surface materials for furniture, doors, door frames, waist boards, baseboards, window frames and the like. A decorative sheet of vinyl chloride resin is laminated on a heated drum of a doubling machine, with a transparent vinyl chloride resin film and a colored vinyl chloride resin film on which printing has been applied, thermocompression bonded, and then embossed on the film surface with an embossing roll. It is manufactured by embossing. However, since vinyl chloride resin generates hydrogen chloride gas during combustion, there is a concern about environmental impact depending on incineration conditions. In view of the recent social demand for environmental problems, a resin composition for a decorative sheet that replaces a vinyl chloride resin is required.
In recent years, amorphous polyethylene terephthalate resin has been widely used as a decorative sheet material to replace vinyl chloride resin. An amorphous polyethylene terephthalate-based resin is a resin obtained by copolymerizing an ester-forming compound such as terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol and a third compound imparting amorphous properties, and is also referred to as a copolyester. As a composition for a decorative sheet using the amorphous polyethylene terephthalate resin, for example, an amorphous polyethylene terephthalate resin may be combined with a conjugated diene rubber or an acrylic rubber, a (meth) acrylic acid ester, and a vinyl aromatic. A composition containing a graft polymer has been proposed (for example, Patent Document 1). This composition is excellent in physical properties such as moldability and impact resistance, but has insufficient adhesion to urethane-based adhesives, paints, and ultraviolet curable paints.
An object of the present invention is a resin composition containing an amorphous polyethylene terephthalate resin, which is excellent in calendar moldability and extrusion moldability, and has adhesiveness to urethane adhesives and paints and ultraviolet curable paints. It is to provide an excellent resin composition.
As a result of intensive studies to solve the above problems, the present inventors have achieved the above object by blending a specific amount of a urethane-based thermoplastic elastomer and a specific graft copolymer into an amorphous polyethylene terephthalate resin. I found out that I can do it.

It is useful as a decorative sheet having a protective sheet and a decorative sheet adhered to a plywood. In addition, the resin composition of the present invention can reduce the motor load in calendar molding, and thus has an energy saving effect.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.
(A) Amorphous polyethylene terephthalate resin The component (A) used in the present invention includes a dicarboxylic acid component containing terephthalic acid as a main component, and a diol containing ethylene glycol and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol as the main components. And a molar ratio of the ethylene glycol and the 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol is 65/35 to 75/25.
The dicarboxylic acid component can contain other dicarboxylic acids in addition to terephthalic acid. Examples of other dicarboxylic acids include dicarboxylic acids having 4 to 40 carbon atoms such as succinic acid, glutaric acid, azelaic acid, adipic acid, suberic acid, sebacic acid, and dimer acid. The amount of the other dicarboxylic acid is preferably 20 mol% or less of the entire dicarboxylic acid component.
The diol component can contain other diols in addition to ethylene glycol and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol. Other diols include 1,3-propanediol, 1,4-butanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,8-octanediol, 2,2,4-trimethyl-1 , 3-pentanediol, propylene glycol, 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol and the like. The amount of the other diol is preferably 20 mol% or less of the entire diol component.
Component (A) preferably has a crystallization half time from the molten state of at least 5 minutes, preferably at least 12 minutes. The crystallization half time is a value determined as follows using a Perkin-Elmer model DSC-2 differential scanning calorimeter. A 15.0 mg sample is sealed in an aluminum pan, heated at a rate of about 320 ° C./min, and held at this temperature for 2 minutes when it reaches 290 ° C. The sample is then immediately cooled in the presence of helium to a predetermined isothermal crystallization temperature at a rate of about 320 ° C./min (20 ° C./min if the apparatus is not possible). The crystallization half time is determined as the time interval from reaching the isothermal crystallization temperature to the point of the crystallization peak on the DSC curve.
The ethylene glycol and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol in the diol component (A) are used in a molar ratio of 65/35 to 75/25. When the molar ratio is within the above range, the crystallinity of the component (A) becomes very low, and the crystallization half time becomes very long. As a result, the physical properties and texture of the obtained film are close to those of a conventionally used vinyl chloride resin film, making it easy to use as a decorative sheet. When the proportion of ethylene glycol is less than the above lower limit, the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the component (A) increases, and it becomes impossible to form a film at an appropriate processing temperature. When the proportion of ethylene glycol exceeds the above upper limit, the Tg of the component (A) is lowered and the viscosity is lowered.
The component (A) preferably has a number average molecular weight of 16,000 to 24,000. If it is this range, a shaping | molding temperature can be made high and the both-ends thickness control property of a film is very favorable.
The component (A) can be produced by copolymerization using the dicarboxylic acid component and the diol component by a known method, for example, the method described in US Pat. No. 5,340,907.
A commercial item can also be used as (A) component, for example, CADENC GS-1 (brand name) and PETG 6763 (brand name) by Eastman Chemical can be mentioned.
