Abstract
【解決手段】互いに対向する第1基板1および第2基板2と、OCBモード液晶を含み第1基板1と第2基板2とに挟持されている液晶層3と、マトリクス状に配置された複数の表示画素PXからなる表示部と、表示画素PXに逆転移防止信号Vbと映像信号Vpとを周期的に充電させる駆動部GD、SDと、を備え、駆動部GD、SDは、逆転移防止信号充電後に表示画素PXに保持される液晶電圧Vd0と、映像信号充電後に表示画素PXに保持される液晶電圧Vd1とを変化させて、逆転移防止電圧充電後の液晶電圧Vd0の変化量ΔVd0を映像信号充電後の液晶電圧Vd1の変化量ΔVd1よりも大きくする手段を有する液晶表示装置。

Claims (5)
- 互いに対向する第1基板および第2基板と、
OCBモード液晶を含み前記第1基板と前記第2基板とに挟持されている液晶層と、
マトリクス状に配置された複数の表示画素からなる表示部と、
前記表示画素に逆転移防止信号と映像信号とを周期的に充電させる駆動部と、を備え、
前記駆動部は、逆転移防止信号充電後に前記表示画素に保持される液晶電圧と、映像信号充電後に前記表示画素に保持される液晶電圧とを変化させて、前記逆転移防止電圧充電後の液晶電圧の変化量を前記映像信号充電後の液晶電圧の変化量よりも大きくする手段を有する液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1基板上に前記表示画素のそれぞれに対応して配置された画素電極と、前記第2基板上に複数の前記画素電極に対向するように配置された対向電極と、前記画素電極と前記対向電極との間に生じる液晶容量と結合される補助容量と、をさらに備え、
前記駆動部は、前記逆転移防止信号充電後に前記補助容量に印加する補助容量電圧の変化量を、前記映像信号充電後に前記補助容量に印加する補助容量電圧の変化量よりも大きくする手段を有する請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は前記補助容量に電気的に接続された補助容量線をさらに備え、
前記駆動部は、前記逆転移防止信号充電後に前記補助容量線に印加する電圧の変化量を、前記映像信号充電後に前記補助容量線に印加する電圧の変化量よりも大きくする手段を有する請求項2記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1基板上に前記表示画素のそれぞれに対応して配置された画素電極と、前記第2基板上に複数の前記画素電極に対向するように配置された対向電極と、前記画素電極と前記対向電極との間に生じる液晶容量と結合される第1補助容量と第2補助容量と、前記第1補助容量に電気的に接続された第1補助容量線と、前記第2補助容量に電気的に接続された第2補助容量と、をさらに備え、
前記駆動部は、前記逆転移防止信号充電後の前記第1補助容量および第2補助容量に印加する補助容量電圧を、前記映像信号充電後の前記補助容量および第2補助容量に印加する補助容量電圧よりも大きくする手段を有する請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 互いに対向する第1基板および第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板とに挟持されているとともにOCBモード液晶を含む液晶層と、
マトリクス状に配置された表示画素からなる表示部と、
前記複数の表示画素に逆転移防止信号と映像信号とを周期的に印加する駆動部と、を備えた液晶表示装置の駆動方法であって、
前記複数の表示画素に逆転移防止信号と映像信号とを周期的に充電する工程と、
前記逆転移防止信号充電後に前記表示画素に保持される液晶電圧と前記映像信号充電後に前記表示画素に保持される液晶電圧とを変化させ、かつ、前記逆転移防止信号充電後の前記液晶電圧の変化量を、前記映像信号充電後の前記液晶電圧の変化量よりも大きくする工程とを有する液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
