Abstract
【解決手段】放電維持周期PSで、Y電極ラインとX電極ラインそれぞれに第1レベル電圧VGを基準として第2レベル電圧VSの維持パルスがY印加電位周期とX印加電位周期とで印加される。Y印加電位周期及びX印加電位周期それぞれが、第1レベルVGから第2レベルVSに上昇する上昇時間、第2レベルVSを維持する維持時間、第2レベルVSから第1レベルVGに下降する下降時間、及び第1レベルVGを維持する休止時間を備え、Y印加電位周期及びX印加電位周期それぞれの休止時間が互いに時間的に重畳されない。このPDPの駆動方法では、ディスプレイ周期としてのフレームごとに時分割階調ディスプレイのための複数のサブフィールドSFが存在し、それぞれのサブフィールドごとにリセット周期PR、アドレス周期PA、及び放電維持周期PSが備わる。

Claims (9)
- 相互対向する一対の基板間にX電極ラインとY電極ラインとが前記基板に垂直な方向に交互に平行に配列される維持電極ライン対に対してアドレス電極ラインが交差される領域に放電セルが形成されるプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して、ディスプレイ周期としてのフレームごとに時分割階調ディスプレイのための複数のサブフィールドが存在し、前記それぞれのサブフィールドごとにリセット周期、アドレス周期、及び放電維持周期が存在し、前記放電維持周期に前記Y電極ラインと前記X電極ラインそれぞれに第1レベルの電圧を基準として第2レベルの電圧の維持パルスがY印加電位周期とX印加電位周期とで印加されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、
前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれが、前記第1レベルから前記第2レベルに上昇する上昇時間、前記第2レベルを維持する維持時間、前記第2レベルから前記第1レベルに下降する下降時間、及び前記第1レベルを維持する休止時間を備え、
前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれの休止時間が互いに時間的に重畳されないことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれにおいて、前記維持時間が前記休止時間より長いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記Y印加電位周期と前記X印加電位周期とが同じ周期を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記Y印加電位周期での前記上昇時間、前記維持時間、前記下降時間、及び前記休止時間それぞれが、前記X印加電位周期での前記上昇時間、前記維持時間、前記下降時間、及び前記休止時間と同じ時間間隔で印加されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記Y印加電位周期の上昇時間と前記X印加電位周期の下降時間のうち少なくとも一つが前記Y印加電位周期の下降時間と前記X印加電位周期の上昇時間のうち少なくとも一つと同じ時間にそれぞれ印加されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 相互対向する一対の基板間にX電極ラインとY電極ラインとが前記基板に垂直な方向に交互に平行に配列される維持電極ライン対に対してアドレス電極ラインが交差される領域に放電セルが形成されるプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して、ディスプレイ周期としてのフレームごとに時分割階調ディスプレイのための複数のサブフィールドが存在し、前記それぞれのサブフィールドごとにリセット周期、アドレス周期、及び放電維持周期が存在し、前記放電維持周期に前記Y電極ラインと前記X電極ラインそれぞれに第1レベルの電圧を基準として第2レベルの電圧の維持パルスがY印加電位周期とX印加電位周期とで印加されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、
前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれが、前記第1レベルから前記第2レベルに上昇する上昇時間、前記第2レベルを維持する維持時間、前記第2レベルから前記第1レベルに下降する下降時間、及び前記第1レベルを維持する休止時間を備え、
前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれの前記上昇時間、前記下降時間、及び前記維持時間の一部のうち少なくとも一つ以上が互いに重畳されることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれで互いに重畳される重畳時間が前記上昇時間及び前記下降時間より長いことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記Y印加電位周期及び前記X印加電位周期それぞれにおいて、前記維持時間が前記休止時間より長いことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記Y印加電位周期と前記X印加電位周期とが同じ周期を有することを特徴とする請求項6に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
