Abstract

968,619. Threading webs. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. Feb. 6, 1962 [Feb. 8, 1961], No. 4594/62. Heading B6B. Apparatus for threading a web through one or more passages in a drying plant between turning rolls mounted at the ends of the passages, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises a guiding strip 4, for example steel strip, and a guide rail 5 which extends along the side edge of the entire conveyance path of the web 2 through the drying plant. Spring-pressed rollers 6 cooperate through recesses 7 in the rail 5 with driven turning rolls 3 and supporting rolls 8 to feed the guiding strip through the plant. The leading end 2a of the web 2 is clamped between two spring-pressed legs of a clamp 13 connected to a holder 11 by a wire 12. The holder 11 is hooked to a recess 10 in the end 4b of the guiding strip 4 and projects through the guide rail slot 5a, as shown in Fig. 4. Specification 912,485 is referred to.
