1,040,703. Feeding webs. MASCHINENFABRIK WINKLER, FULLERT & CO. A.G. March 29, 1963 [April 6, 1962], No. 12612/63. Heading B6B. A paper guiding device, e.g. for transversely guiding a web or a web turning bar, comprises a roller 1 having at least three peripheral constrictions formed by surfaces 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 forming guiding surfaces 6, 7 and 8 disposed axially of the roller. A web having a width corresponding to the distance between any two constrictions, may be guided by the roller as the two longitudinal margins pass over the constrictions. In other embodiments, Fig. 2 (not shown) the roller comprises barrel-shaped lengths, or removable sheaths, Fig. 3 (not shown), or is a turning bar, Fig. 4 (not shown).
