Abstract

955,429. Locks. R. B. LEGGOTT. Dec. 27, 1961 [Dec. 28, 1960], No. 44394/60. Heading E2A. A lock comprises a casing 3 housing a pivoted bolt 5 and an arm 7 interconnected by a link 10, the bolt 5 being moveable from a locked to an unlocked position by rotation of the arm 7 by a key. The arm 7 is provided with a square socket 8 having a pin 9 for engagement in a bore in the square spigot 15 of a key 14 which has a narrow cylindrical neck 17. The spigot may only be inserted or withdrawn from the lock in its fully locked or unlocked positions as it corresponds to a square aperture 18 in a supporting plate 19. The arm 7 is provided with a spring loaded ball 11 which engages with a dimple 12 (see Fig. 3, not shown) in the unlocked position, or a dimple 13 in the locked position.
