Abstract

869,688. Padlocks. MASTER LOCK CO. March 9, 1959, No. 8042/59. Class 44. A lock comprises a shackle 24, a locking lever 14 pivotally mounted in a body 12 and a cylindrical bore 15 in the lever, the lever being manually operable and having a latch pin 28 situated in the bore 15. Release of the shackle 24 is effected by rotating disc 18 to such a position that finger portion 22 is able to rotate into slot 23. The shape of the shackle pin 28 prevents retraction of the pin into the bore when a shouldered portion 29 contacts a face 31 on the lever 14, and also prevents retraction by means of a shim introduced between the shackle leg and the body 12 due to a recess 33 in the head of the latch pin.
