Abstract

943,127. Confining dust in grinding machines. DUST CONTROL EQUIPMENT Ltd. Aug. 20, 1962 [Aug. 18, 1961], No. 29806/61. Heading F4X. In a machine comprising a grinding wheel or circular cutting tool arranged to rotate within a housing comprising a collector case 3 connected to a suction system at 8, and a cowl 4, the case 3 has at least one opening 9 so positioned that a stream of ambient air is drawn across the lower part of the case 3. As shown, ambient air is drawn across the bottom of case 3 through inlet 9 whose size can be controlled by adjustable cover 10. Dust laden air is also drawn from grinding point 6 down duct 14 where it meets the ambient air stream which deflects it into the exhaust system. Specification 943,126 is referred to.
